It could have happened, if the transaction fee to high and the speed to slow and now it looks the price of the bitcoin hard up more, if this continues to happen someday bitcoin can be replaced by another cryptocurrency.
There would be such a possibility that this could happened in the future but as of now I didn't see any altcoin to surpass the dominance of the bitcoin in the world of digital currency today. Due to bitcoin's continue increasing of the demand in the market today so I guess may be this thing could be happened but it take quite long to happen.

For now, I think nothing can take the place of bitcoin in cryptocurrency because the value of bitcoin is the fastest growing coins in the cyber world thats why there is no one can replaced bitcoin in the cryptocurrency.

Bitcoin has made a huge mark with cryptocurrency that it may be impossible to be obsolete. However, it may be possible if there were more digital currencies that thrive.

Bitcoin will continue to grow and gain momentum and it will be very difficult for another cryptocurrency to over take bitcoin because of its current high price. Bitcoin is the father of all cryptocurrency and it continue to maintain it position as father of all.

Does it make sense to believe that Bitcoin could one day be replaced by another cryptocurrency, that is, a cryptocurrency that really does make Bitcoin obsolete?
No, it won't be Monero... Since nothing lasts forever it is of course possible that Bitcoin will be replaced some day. The question is it likely to be replaced by another cryptocurrency or will it be replaced by an entirely new concept? I think if a new system replaces Bitcoin it must have highly significant advantages over Bitcoin that come close to the paradigm shift that Bitcoin represents compared to the existing fiat money system. The reason why I don't believe that Bitcoin is replaced easily by another cryptocurrency is its significant network effect that is the result of having the biggest user base. Bitcoin had a first mover advantage. That advantage can not be easily reversed. ya.ya.yo! It is not impossible for other cyrptocurrency to surpass bitcoin being the number one crypto in the world. In the past year, there are almost 40 cryptocurrency which improvement has been seen. Their sales reached about 1 billion mark just like the bitcoin and its percentage rate of improving is unbelievable. We can expect that there will be some cryptocurrency that can surpass bitcoin yet we do not know what exactly it is. Just review the graphs of each and we can have our speculation.

Bitcoin is the king of all, because of bitcoin, it brought up every other cryptocurrencies. I don't think any other crypto could ever take the throne of bitcoin. Bitcoin will always stay high up and lead the others.

Two weeks back there were reports of users paying more than $100 as transaction fee for a single transaction. This is not viable in the long term. The fee has fallen during the past few days, but still it is quite high compared to what we had a few months back. And at this point of time, there are around 155,000 unconfirmed transactions in the Blockchain.

It could be bitcoin one day will be replaced by another cryptocurrency, but it may take a long time. The price of the bitcoin is now very high and transaction fee are also increasingly expensive, and barely a month price of bitcoin is not much moves up. If this persists there is the possibility of the bitcoin will be replace by another cryptoccurency. I think it is the time for the developer for slove the problems.

Yes it could happen but i doubt very much it will happen the short to medium term, to actually make bitcoin obsolete would be a achievement.
I don't think bitcoin can replaced by another cryptocurrency because bitcoin is the mother of all cryptocurrencies. It's impossible this time.

I think no. Bitcoin cannot be replaced by any other cryptocurrency. We all can see how bitcoin dominates our present market. It shall take the number one spot because of its exchange value that rises high very much and it is very favorable to us.we are blessed having bitcoin in out lives because millions of people do have the opportunity to earn very big.

Sadly, that is the hard truth about Bitcoin. Extremely high fees make it impractical for day trading, or making daily transactions. It is more suitable for holding in the long term as a store of value, rather than using it for anything else. The inability for Bitcoin to scale for large masses have caused many investors to flee over to other altcoins which have better features, and higher transaction throughput. One of the key features of Bitcoin in the beginning was cheap fees, and fast settlement. That is one of the reasons why Bitcoin became the biggest cryptocurrency in existence today. However, if it cannot keep up with handling a wider audience, then other cryptocurrencies may take the lead in fulfilling Bitcoin's original promise. Nevertheless, I hope that Bitcoin would remain as the number one cryptocurrency in market cap for many years to come. But, if other coins like Bitcoin Cash gain better traction with its cheaper fees and higher capacity, then they would replace Bitcoin in the future. Just my opinion

Of course, Bitcoin may be replaced by a more potent Altcoin like ETH. I think Bitcoin can hardly hit $ 20,000 but the ETH could hit $ 10,000 in the next few months. ETH will be a good candidate to replace Bitcoin.

Seeing that you posted this 2 years ago I think more than ever, Bitcoin has big chances to be replaced by another coin. We shall see which one.
