DO you have any idea how many ico shitcoins are claiming to be the next ico platform / smart contract / masternode / staking ethereum killer?
Every one of their bitcointalk threads is full of die hard hodlers like you who keep saying "ignore the price" or "wow look how high we are compared to all time low"
"great time to load up on *shitcoin#443* "  its getting really sad

I know a bloody shitcoin when I see one. I've been involved in the crypto scene for damn near 6 years. Yes I have a good damn idea of this space; I know that there are several coins that make outlandish claims about this or that and get pumped to the moon price-wise with absolutely bugger all to show for it. Stratis, as of the past 12 months, and last month and next few weeks especially, actually has something to show for it.

If you bothered to take your time to read articles such as:

https://medium.com/@acetmesis/why-im-excited-about-the-stratis-platform-from-an-investment-perspective-3034da691097

https://medium.com/khilone/not-just-a-node-stratis-c-full-node-is-live-and-it-was-worth-the-wait-95dcbddd0dc5

https://medium.com/khilone/stratis-platform-cold-staking-66e92ff6ebcb

And bothered to follow the developments of the platform, and the recent releases that will make a FUNCTIONAL, WORKING PRODUCT WITH ACTUAL USE CASE, you'd bloody know this.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mRQ9Mnf8QEg

https://stratisplatform.com/

https://github.com/stratisproject

https://twitter.com/AlexanderSchro/status/1073203220665765889

But instead, because the price and volume is currently not to your satisfaction, you decide to revert to old, tired and sad adjectives such as "shitcoin". If there is anything I've learned during my years in crypto, it's that the price rarely reflects the actual fundamentals and tech. Most coins, by and large, simply rely on hype and word of mouth, no matter what they actually offer to the crypto space. It's a sad state of affairs, but it is what it is.

I'd definitely agree with you that this is a shitcoin were it not for all the progress in tech that has actually been made in the past year or two. But the evidence is now here for all to see unless you're a FUDding troll. So please crawl back to your cave.

I don't ever promote "loading up" on X coins...do whatever makes sense to you and do your own damn research. But evident FUDding for no reason and with a complete lack of constructive criticism ("LULZ, INVESTOR CONFIDENCE AND VOLUME IS LOW, ERGO THIS COIN MUST BE SHIT") is partly a reason why the crypto space is currently in a dire state right now and why there are so many genuine shit and scamcoins out there - the swamp needs to be drained and this bear market will hopefully give us just that.

The price of coin X could tank to 0 for all I care. But to argue that coin X is a shitcoin based on its price/volume is fundamentally flawed on so many levels.

" Stratis remains one of the best performing cryptos of all time." Stage one DENIAL.

Stage one FUD.

I'm really not trying to say "ignore the price" or even "wow look how high we are compared to all time low", I was just talking about the behaviour of Strat on the markets, and the observations we can make about that behaviour.

The price has sucked for everyone who bought Strat after this time last year. The price has sucked for pretty much anyone who bought any crypto in December 2017. In fact, I have a friend who bought Stratis at £3.40 November 2017 and sold that Stratis at £13.60 in January, 4X her initial investment, which was her target (very good planning tbh). She sold her Strat at very close to the top. However, she put that money into another crypto which has seen since a far sharper decline than Stratis: 98.8% as of today from the point at which she bought. Just goes to show that even people who sold a crypto at pretty much the top didn't necessarily walk away with the profits. This year has been brutal, no doubt about it. Calling out Stratis as being one of the worst market performers is demonstrably untrue, even in relatively short time frames.

I want to take this coin a little, but I don’t have time to get a lower price.
There is a possibility that this coin will show itself well next year. I have been watching this project for a long time.
I wish you success!
We look forward to new developments.

2018 is really bad all market we see moving all in same direction and they lost too much value almost more than 90% from their ATH. This is too much if someone make entry at bad time than it is really painful for it to see the current price.

Is there a reason to think this coin will go up again? It seems abandoned. I had great expectations, but only disappointments so far.

I see waves personally currently ahead of stratis, also less risk because stratis still way over the ico price, waves in contrast only 2x.
I like both projects, still team needs to deliever faster.

Why would you need a bootstrap? Smiley The full node wallet syncs very fast. I think I have synced mine in about 1 hour or so. With this occasion I want to congratulate the stratis developers for this state of the art wallet they have created after loads and loads of hard work.

I mean... the people looking for 5x or more would go for strat. Waves already at 250 million market cap. Strat is around 50 million.

As compare with Waves this project has more better platform and this idea is more bigger than this. I hope in long term this will get succeed to get recover and start moving into positive direction.

In a bear market it doesn't really matter what great news any project announces, it does nothing meaningful for the price and if anything creates a knee jerk sell off because certain investors become salty and throw the towel in. Its happening right across the board and is a healthy cleansing. Unless a coin is adopted by PayPal or amazon or the government at the moment no news or development will make any coin go up in price. This is the nature of a bear market. Once a bull market happens it will happen organically and once 2017 is distant memory. All coins will become priced relative to one another and hot money will flow through the entire space again. In the next bull run the indicator of the top for me will be people paying obscene amounts of money for digital land. With it being all over mainstream news about million dollar virtual property sales and the next get rich quick property boom. People do insane things with easy money and become very tight fisted when they are scared.

Is it already possible to do cold staking on a raspberry pi. Are there instructions where to retrieve and how to compile the wallet? I can only find tutorials for the 'old' stratis wallet.

As things stand, you have to send the Strat in a transaction. Guide is here:

cold staking is yet to be activated...when 95% of stakers move to the new wallet cold staking will be activated and then you will be able to cold stake using a raspberry...you can stake on raspberry now, its just that your wallet needs to be open till cold staking gets activated.
