As i see Stratis have 3 upcoming ICOs (but 2 of them wihout date of launch, and the 3rd should be launched on 15th of May). But are they crazy? Those ICOs want to raise from 31 mln to 45 mln usd each...   I think Stratis must choose more reliable and realistic ICOs with resonable hardcap... |

Yes most of masternodes are gimmicks but these ones are meant to support the network and make it secure, give gas for smart contracts so youre a bit wrong here... Maybe you should do some research before talking shit about stuff you dont even know...  I do know what makes a coins price and this coin isn't doing it. Masternodes and icos are gimmicks. Most investors now have been around the game long enough to know when it's a gimmick. You should gain understanding about what maks a coin price move before shooting your mouth off. This coin is doing next to nothing to move the price. Obviously the investors agree with me because the price just stays the same and doesn't move upwards like the good coins. You have next to zero understanding about what makes a coins price move upwards. I would guess your upset about the price....all you mention is price price price.... Well the price went from 0.007usd to 21usd and from 7000sats to 460k sats...plenty of time to take profits.... It has to correct a bit after such a rally, dont you think???...its been more than 6 months now that its been in this area so that probably means we are in accumulation area. Aaaand we are still kind of in bear market so i dont know what people expect from price movements... |

I am going to definitely try the staking. What is the minimum someone can stake to start getting rewards? And how frequent are the rewards?

huge milestone for everyone who is holding their strat on ledger but would like to stake. big security on offline wallet but now have the benefits of staking and earning strat.
this will give the price after a long fall and consolidation to finally move to a normal growth phase.

Or any instructions/link to instructions would be helpful... If you have a wallet.dat file, then you will need to download the QT Wallet from here: https://github.com/stratisproject/stratisX/releases. Once you've done this, navigate to the Stratis folder, find the wallet.dat file in that folder, delete it and replace it with the backup "wallet.dat" file you have. Make sure it is called "wallet.dat". Open the QT Wallet and give it time to sync fully (may take 10 hours or so, depending on the speed of your internet). Once it has, you can then migrate to the new wallet, the Stratis Core wallet, which can be found here: https://stratisplatform.com/2018/12/12/stratis-core-production-release/. There's also a migration guide on that page as well, if you want extra help. To do this, you have to create a new wallet in Stratis Core, get a new address and send the Strat from QT to the new address in a transaction. There is currently no way of migrating to Core directly using the wallet.dat file, as the architecture of the wallets are quite different (Stratis Core is an HD wallet). |

Minimum staking value is 0.1 Strat, as defined in here: https://github.com/stratisproject/StratisBitcoinFullNode/blob/master/src/Stratis.Bitcoin.Features.Miner/Staking/PosMinting.cs: " /// <summary> /// We don't stake coins that are smaller than 0.1 in order to save on CPU as these have a very small chance to be used /// to generate a block anyway. /// <seealso cref=" https://github.com/stratisproject/StratisBitcoinFullNode/issues/1180"/> /// </summary> " Rewards depend on the total amount of strat being staked on the network. 1 new Strat is minted with every block (each 64 seconds). So if EVERY Strat was staking at once, then the rewards would be ~0.5% per year. As things stand, about 1/4 of the Strat supply is staking, so to work out the staking rewards you just have to divide 0.5% by the share of the network staking, i.e. 0.5% / (1/4) = 2%. So at the moment, if you're staking 25,000 Strat 24/7, you will be receiving roughly 500 Strat in rewards per year. Staking does also receive fees associated with transactions contained in each block. So rewards will go up a little with overall network volume. As things stand, these are very small compared with the 1 Strat minted each block. Staking is pseudorandom, so all of the above ROIs are averages.
