You can still mine the pow side of 808 with sha256 asic. However block rewards are low, difficulty changes every block, higher difficulty lowers pow block reward.

It is much better to buy coin in exchange, send it to your portfolio and let it grow day by day.
After a few months you would be incredulous and happy 808, if you did not sell anything!

Is there a walkthrough somewhere on how to use the wallet? maybe I'm doing something wrong

No the wallet doesn't synchronise. It says 0 active connection.
The transaction appears in the blockchain, I'm using the osx wallet and I added the .conf file with the nodes and I try to use a vpn as I'm in indonesia at the moment.
It still doesnt sync.
SHould I change something in the wallet preferences?

I didn't make the conf file, but it started to sync hours later, so wait for it.

You will likely have to mine solo if you want to. The cost of running a 808 pool makes it unprofitable option for operators. Total daily pow mintage is under 3k 808 atm and will drop even lower if more people try and mine it and raise the difficulty.

I now have my 808 coin giveaway up and running on Twitter and so far the response has been great. My plan is when I stake in around 5 to 7 days from now to share 50% or 100k to people who have followed the rules. I am giving away 3 prizes 1st 50k 2nd 30k and 3rd 20k. Since I started this giveaway I have had a lot of messages on Twitter about 808 coin and the good thing is that most of them have decided to get into 808 coin.
