The Weekly Burst Report #72 - BRS 2.3.0 released (including fixed security vulnerability, new explorer update, Burst Marketing Fund activities, and more!

Read the full article at the Burstcoin.ist
https://www.burstcoin.ist/2019/03/05/weekly-burst-report-72/

Today I tried to update my QBundle Software and BRS. After copying the new https://github.com/burst-apps-team/Qbundle/releases/tag/v2.5.1 over my old files there appears no new BRS Wallet on the available downloadlist, still 2.2.7.
So I decided to do the same with the new BRS file. QBundle still says its BRS2.2.7 but after login and check available Network nodes I can see me running a 2.3.0 Node.
How can I tell QBundle to show me the same?

That is odd that you didnt' see it on the download list, I can't tell you why.

As for the QBundle reporting what BRS, this is what Quibus had to say about that -

Quote

WHAT IS BURST?

Burst is a cryptocurrency and an open-source decentralized blockchain platform that connects people, companies, and financial institutions. It allows you to move value – according to your own rules – within a scalable, green, and customizable ledger. It has multiple core-level features and has been running publicly since August of 2014.

Burst is a deflationary currency. The total number of coins that can ever be mined is capped at 2,158,812,800. The mining period for Burst will end in the 2033.

Video - Burst Introduction
https://img.youtube.com/vi/Fyj9RIyxLb4/0.jpg

Burst was officially introduced on the 10th of August 2014 with a goal to solve the largest problems faced by other cryptocurrencies:

    • lack of decentralization
    • unsustainable waste of energy
    • unfair pre-mines and ICO releases
    • supremacy of corporate interests and large mining operations

Burst is the first cryptocurrency secured by the energy efficient Proof-of-Capacity algorithm (PoC). Bitcoin and many other “altcoins” use the unsustainable Proof-of-Work model that is widely regarded as a pending environmental disaster due to excessive energy usage. The Proof-of-Work model provides for network security by requiring computers to needlessly and repeatedly perform computationally intensive hashing functions in real time. As network difficulty increases over time, an arms race to remain competitive has emerged whereby Proof-of-Work miners employ ever more powerful processors, graphics cards, and expensive application-specific integrated circuits (ASICs). The energy costs are astounding with electric usage devoted to Proof-of-Work estimated to be more than the total usage of some countries. The Bitcoin network's annual electricity usage alone is frequently sited as exceeding that of the country of Switzerland. Burst’s alternative Proof-of-Capacity algorithm provides equivalent security using regular computer resources and inexpensive hard drives to store and retrieve the results of hashing functions that have been pre-computed and are reusable in perpetuity.

    Decentralization

Burst addresses the centralist tendency problem plaguing other cryptocurrencies by further using an algorithm that is ASIC-proof. With no possibility for ASICs to replace regular everyday hardware as a minimum barrier to feasible entry, continued decentralization is assured.

    Energy-Efficient

Burst uses minimal computational resources beyond that required for initial setup. It is estimated that a Burst transaction uses several orders of magnitude less energy than that required to process a bitcoin transaction. This makes Burst eco-friendly and green. It can be mined using something as small as a Raspberry Pi.

    Fair Release

Burst was released with advance public notice, without premine, without airdrops, and without an ICO. All Burst in existence today has been mined beginning with the genesis block using the PoC algorithm.

    Equal Opportunity

Because there is no need to buy expensive specialized hardware, Burst is and will remain accessible to anyone who owns a personal computer. No matter how well funded an individual or organization, they cannot use expensive equipment to gain advantage over regular miners using regular computer equipment.

i was back on solo mining sins begin december

as on pool i got less than half as expecting by calculator, and it was always showing around 44tb when i have 75
and checked couple of time, i don't thing there is error in my plots

but look like i m far more lucky on solo, good some bad luck on febuary but december and march  got far above average  Cheesy
and average on 4 month i have 50% more than calculator says

so all good on solo  Grin

so if you have more than 50tb i think solo is fine

88 sats now. It doesn't look very bright for burst lately. And there are numerous hack reports on burst's reddit channel.

It still can make another x10 run along with BTC but other than that, we need good news to move this thing upside.

Also there are only 120m coins left to be mined It seems like only miners care about this coin. I wonder what'll happen when the remaining coins get mined.

I wonder what'll happen when the remaining coins get mined.

Only earning from fees, will for sure take away from the mining scene, all the ones who search for profitability to ROI from hardware investment (they will probably sell all their disks and go), and will remains only the ones that used spare hdd on servers that need to be always on for other tasks... I'm one of them...  Wink

You'll need high capacity hard disk drives, (8-10tb) and a pc. Nothing else pretty much.

If you are going to use external hard drives like me (I use 3 8tb and have been mining for a year) you'll also need a powered usb hub.

There are 2 things you need to know. Your pc should have a usb 3.0 if you are going to get the external hard disks and your CPU should support AVX2 architecture if you don't want slow ass read speeds. (Means you need to have intel i3 or higher)

Profitbility is pretty shit but considering that you don't really spend any electricity it is doable as a hobby.

Like i said I've been mining since last year and It is all going down since then. Buy and hodl usually a better idea.

Now it is very hard to mine the burst coin because you need to have very huge equipment for mining the burst coin. I spend lot of money for mining the coin but I ma making very less amount of coins. Before investing you need to check with the other people who are mining burst coin.
