Ooo... Haiku! I can play this game!

With hash rates rising
Everyone is watching the
ASICs that have shipped.

Much envy and greed
Driving all these markets now
Much entertainment.

Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

Avalon's ASICs
Invented BitCoins demise
Technologarchy

When the generation 1 miners purchase the bulk of gen 3, they will be bitcoins' oligarchy.
The beauty of bitcoin is that it is decenteralized.
Avalons price structure for Gen3 doesn't help bitcoin.
In fact it does the opposite, IMO.

I have noticed, any system, no matter how distributed it is from the beginning, it will eventually centralize, and when it died, it will be distributed again, a little bit like chemical reaction -- concentration and dissipation

- not really, the current diff already includes majority of batch #1's hashing power. but I also don't believe diff will only be 10,000,000 but like I said, it should take at least 1 month of ROI, realistically best case 1 month, regular projection of 3 month, which is about diff 30,000,000 which is more reasonable if BFL ships.

Let's assume that this world there will be only Avalon are mining. How many Avalon machines will be there? 300+600+1000+trade-in, that's about 150T hashing power. And the difficulty is already more than 10,000,000.

So the projection of difficulty is irresponsible.

In the announcement it said Batch #3 will go on sale on Friday....does that mean Friday in China? It's 12:30pm Friday in China right now, so I suppose we can expect it any time now.

I guess that means as an American, I'm not sleeping tonight. Cheesy

The 10,000,000 represents a one-month ROI.  That doesn't mean you should get this.  Anything under 12 months should be suitable.  People have been swayed by the dark side of the force and now they think they deserve 1 month ROI.  Come one people, I hope someone thinks this is correct?

That was an example estimate, I should probably clarified earlier, that 88 -115 is based on difficulty estimates, so this number will adjust accordingly, and I would say many things are lost in translation and taken the wrong way.

in other words, DO NOT take information to be final unless it is from the NEWSLETTER.

If you owned Avalon how much would you charge?

Who do you figure owns Avalon? He who did the work or they who put up the money?

I have 49 Dell computers and 8 Dell Servers here at my company, I did not find share certificates in the box they were shipped in.   They charged my credit card and received my funds sometimes as much as a month before they sent them.   Let me know where I should apply for my equity in their firm.

Those Dell computers existed at the time you ordered them.

I disagree   the servers took months to deliver.   they existed in design but also in substitutes.   If it is so easy, let me know the URL of the asic company you have started and I will consider giving you what you consider a "donation" to buy a product the will make me rich (pretty god damn generous of me isnt it?)

The newsletter will be the first place where information about Batch 3 ordering will be available, as always.  Usually someone starts a thread when they get their newsletter.

All I can say is that this is Bitcoin. I don't believe it until I see six confirmations.

/damn i though it will be 2000$ or something around it i think i will pass it  Cry Cry.

Hehe, we have to gambles now:

pay 90 btc for a unit you know exists, and that you will received sometime around June (and maybe sooner!)
pay 20 btc for a BFL unit you don't know if exists, and that they tell you that you will receive in July if ordered now (and most likely later!)

Both of them seems quite risky to me, but if I had enough coins bought cheap, I would take both Wink

you would still be better off buying 5 bfl units in the long term, even if it were another month or two delay.

As much as I think BFL is incompetent this seems the best way to go.

Well, I thought I would jump into Avalon Batch three... but my jaw hit the floor when I saw the price. What the bloody hell?

Going all in on BFL seems like a better idea than this shit. $5k for a box that cost initally $1299. Someone decided they don't want customers.

It all turned into greed. Once someone gets their tip wet with a little money it changes them into someone else. I read previously that the Avalon creator did this project to protect the Bitcoin network/community, but seeing a %400 increase in price for a unit that really only cost $1500 or so is not protecting the Bitcoin network/community but just being flat out greedy. It is very easy to see that.

Has Avalon sent a really nice fruit basket to Butterfly Labs to thank them for allowing them to be able to extract these rents from the market?   Do not get me wrong, I completely agree with what Avalon is doing as it makes perfect sense (and actually may make this a more orderly business as people will have to think for a minute before pulling the trigger).

Buy Bitcoins because they are going nowhere but UP as people will need to buy more than they expected.

I wonder if Avalon would still ask for 88btc if the price of BTC dropped to $40 or even less. Hey, as a group can we make that happen?

Wouldn't that then make them ask for more BTC ?

Dump our btc just to see what some dude will do with his price ? That will be like shooting yourself in the foot for fun. Smiley

Why would anyone buy avalon at 88btc if by the time it gets to you you could have traded 88btc on exchange several times and made 88btc every 2-4 weeks without avalon?

Can you double your money every few weeks by trading?

If you had a crystal ball you could double your money every couple days.

the problem with bitcoin right now is it's volatility. It could double in value, or it could halve. it could be worth a fortune, or nothing. It's not slow swings either. it goes way up, or way down very fast.
