If you believe in Charles Hoskinson (which I think he's the Gates/Jobs of Blockchain) he helped ETC rewrite 16,000 lines of code from scratch so itll work seamlessly w. Cardano, they recently set up shop in San Fran, Cali, and got Utrust on board, and Utrust has a partnership w. Pundi X Smiley
LOL, sounds highly promising.
However, the latest improvements of codes need time to demonstrate its quality, and its impacts on the network performance.
At least, it is early good signal for future of ETC.

IOHK (Charles' team) is just wotking on Mantis client, I really don't think that they are working on other ETC's projects (like Emerald, sidechains, Geth classic and so on)

Check it out:

Interestingly, the IOHK's roadmap for Ethereum Classic is coming to an end.

It'd be interesting to see whether they really release a new roadmap for ETC next year or decide to keep all their focus only on Cardano from now on.

Is there really any hope left for this project? It is showing no signal of recovery since it was listed on CoinBase!

Like I said they're working, and they worked, only on Mantis client. I don't know if there are future plans, other then mantain Mantis (upgrade it, solve bugs etc....)

The funny thing is, even the maintenance of Mantis by IOHK is coming to an end by the next month. I've asked about the update of IOHK's roadmap for Ethereum Classic in Ethereum Classic's official Telegram, but it seems like no one's got any clue there. Roll Eyes

Every now and then I'm reading twits about Orbita which, if I understand correctly, is an ETC's sidechain, anyone know if it's already in existance or not and what is its goal?

New roadmap for ETC, when it will be released?
Any release day scheduled yet?
I guess, it has not been scheduled, but just hope, simply hope.

Have patience if we will keep pushing this project with great support than in future will have more interesting features which could put this in really important position. If they are still on job than we have good chance to see it happening soon.

I hope 2019 will bring good news regarding ETC, but is there any ICO or project already developed that use smart contracts in the ETC block chain?

Although Ethereum Classic is on the market for a pretty long time, I still cannot understand whether it is good to invest in it or not. The coin seems a bit strange for me (as for the price): today it is running forward, and tomorrow it is falling.

For now the right choice is only holding bitcoin, beyond that I myself do not guarantee if your money will be intact or even reduced.

really?
Bitcoin plummeted, so holding it is the best choice.
I will try to buy more cheap altcoins, which fell down dramatically due to temporary down and impacts from bitcoin.
They will recover days later.

Ethereum classic is still listed on the biggest exchanges like COINBASE so when the bull market returns there will a huge rebound. People will buy it from everywhere that they prefer to trade from which is why top coins do better than the ones that only list on one mid sized exchange.

The successful listing of Ethererum Classic on Coinbase shown its amazing impacts on ETC movements on exchanges weeks ago.
For now, I don't think that Coinbase news have still had impacts on ETC.

It is very noticeable that the price of ETC is affected by the news that is announced, especially in terms of development results, while the current price indicates stability and this is logical because of the popularity gained
