good on ya man!
That is a really dumb thing to do, to sell your house for some Bitcoins I know that the Bitcoin is worth allot of money but to sell your house for it is just crazy.
I hope that you can make enough money to buy your self a new house.
I think that it still depends actually,on what kind of investment you do.
if you want to gamble it,you deserve to go to mentally ill hospital, but if you are going to invest the money into something which
can yield you good % every month, then it might be actually worth to life poorer, but get bigger and bigger profit every month.

Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

That is not a smart idea if you ask me to sell your house to go all in on Bitcoin because if it is not going to pay off or you lose your Bitcoin then you are screwed.
I like to play it safe and do not take big risks like that because that is just not smart to do.

Hi All,

I have been following Bitcoin for over a year and was the first person ever to put my house for sale for bitcoin.

http://www.cbc.ca/newsblogs/yourcommunity/2013/03/alberta-man-accepting-bitcoins-in-exchange-for-home.html

Not sure if you followed my story from a year ago, but the house just sold on Friday, and will make the news tomorrow I suspect. When the house closed on Friday I got approximately 648 BTC for my house which is based on prices over the past 6 months when the deal was actively negotiated, legal fees, realtor fees, and a bunch of contract wording that I frankly don't understand. I am now all in! I really believe in bitcoin. It is the future of the world. I look forward to the continued price increase and one day I plan to own my own island. I will truly be a bitcoin billionaire by the time I am 25 I believe. This house was inherited from my father who passed away a few years ago and he always believed in me and told me I would make it big one day and so I shall. Wish me luck Smiley

648 x $870.00CAD = 563,760.00 CAD  Well played if OP held.  Anyone ever hear from OP? He was asking 405,000.00 for the house and so as of this posting, he is up over 160,000.00 in just over two years at 24 yrs old. Hmmnn.

OP had the braves to take the risk of selling his house and now he is reaping the profits.

Bitcoin has made many young people very rich. You just need to get in at the right time to profit big time.

Bitcoin will reward the brave people. It is still in the early development stage. The price will rise a lot further.

This guy can write a book when its all done and dusted because we clearly arent getting the full picture here.   I think someone said he is renting or something, he is busy elsewhere and didnt want to use this house.

Considering all the troubles the housing market has had in recent years, mixed up in politics and high finance with the end of century strong institutions no less by their poor judgement of true supply demand in the housing debt market;  well I dont blame him for thinking of taking a different direction.   As it turns out Canadian housing has good demand ?      We have yet to find out if bitcoin has higher still demand growth, its possible because bitcoin is global and Canada is still a fairly small nation subject to commodity demand as a I understand it.

All bitcoin needs and so this mans investment/gamble is that dollar keeps declining, look at the amount of debt and deficit operated by government and its almost inevitable
