I wonder what these people do with all this stolen money...
what would you do with 60 millions USD? You would open a real business(if you really want to feel the pulse of society) in your country, you will buy a house, 2 houses...10...so that you can rent them, cars, woman , anything you wish. you would live a life without any problem. A normal person would do that, I just have a hard time believing these sleaze hang up their black hats and start living like "normal" rich people. I suspect they're already thinking about their next heist to gain a billion dollars. It's probably someone with a vendetta against BTC, Bitfinex, or both. (Or a cover story for some scammy stuff going on at Bitfinex.) The hacker may not enrich Himself/herself at all. They might just stick it in a few addresses and never spend them. That is what I am thinking also and this is not new to us. Gain the trust of people then pull back and run. This thing will happen in every wallet site if they see that there will be paradise after the robbery.

it is possible because the hipsters who run the most exchangers do not care about security and other real important things of a business... like running a legit company. they feel like gods when they are tinny shits. all of them pose in Buffet or Trump.
Trump is kind of a pretend Buffet in that same way... But no, I wouldn't trust any of these places with my crypto for a second longer than I needed to.

Might just be an internal job for all we know. Seems to be a trend now-a-days claiming to be jacked when things are actually not going on so well internally. Just my 2 cents.

This is the first time in a while that huge amount has been stolen from an exchange, or was it really stolen? We can't blame people for suspecting and coming up with conspiracy theories with all these exchanges being "hacked" every now and then.

I've always said that although crypto should be free of regulation, but financial services such as exchanges should. It doesnt matter if you have an exchange that lets users trade stocks, bananas, crypto, hats or whatever - the fact is the entity takes money from people, and that my friends, must be properly regulated.

I literally had the gut instinct to sell all my coins @ $700/coin, and now I'm really happy I did it. The exploitation of these exchanges is just becoming old-news at this point. How many are going to get fucked for so much BTC before they realize that they need to stop it with the centralized exchanges and weak code. I'll see you guys at $300/Coin and double my supply

I'm fine with unregulated exchanges existing, I just wouldn't use one for anything more than a quick currency swap. I'd like to see regulated exchanges also.

Now I am starting to think "why not be a hacker also?" OR "a wallet site owner" I see a lot of profits in it. All those who ask how to earn bitcoin faster. Here is the answer.

You know what's weird? The only communication bitfinex is having with the outer world right now is through a community manager's Reddit account. Has what this user been saying confirmed? https://www.reddit.com/user/zanetackett

This will again look like a slap in the face of Bitcoin when in fact all the blame should go only to BitFinex. The clueless media will put a spin to this and tarnish Bitcoin's reputation once again. And BitFinex was running an illegal business? How did all of that volume got traded in there? We need more non-FUD, fact based information about these exchanges. Their profiles and their histories. I think it's the community's responsibility to look out for each other.

Okay so someone says they were hacked and we took it like it actually happened Whats the difference between them and those ponzi sites that after getting investors pour some money and run away but shouted they were hacked. That's why its not safe to keep those coins there or in any exchange sites.
