I've got a dedicated server at Softlayer that I could host it on. Any preference towards forum software?
I would appreciate this. I'm not going to be picky on forum software, it would just be nice to have a place to our own so I can make things more organized with stickeyied threads, etc. Plus... this thread does not really belong in this subforum, I am suprised they haven't kicked us out of here already. Now that the initial fund raising and investor ownership percentages have been figured out, it is time to figure out a better solution than a million page thread in the wrong sub forum.

wow CoinHorder, This has grown exceptionally large. (I bought in on your first order, before they went on sale). You sure have some work on your hands. I bought in thinking this would be much smaller and more personal.
I was putting my money into Rick & the prison, now this feels like I'm apart of Woodbury...
We need to get this more organized. This is a large group. First a private website for investors. Public blog for CoinHorder to update us. Private forums that CH verify each account. Only people with current shares will have access. If you sell all your shares then your access will be removed.
For share trade/sells I propose this. Members will find other members that want to sell/buy and come to agreement. Once a week/month, CH will go through a list of members that wish to trade. Members send payments, CH verifys, updates records, etc.
Take 10mins to setup, few days to get everyone to reg/verify forum accts. I have servers/domains. I'm sure half of us do. Don't know why it take us so long to do simple thing as this. Drop me a PM CH if interested.
This at most!!! I really don't want CH to have to do any more work than he signed up for and want him rested to look after the farm.... We can negotiate between ourselves he should not have to do it, he never said he was opening an exchange, nor should he be put to the work of it.

It is alright... for now I am allowing it. When we get closer to the time we should be receiving our Avalon's, I will reassess the situation then.

Well, there seems to be enough opposition to going on a security exchange that I am willing to scrap that idea. ATTENTION INVESTORS:First, I have taken some mBTC off of my ownership interest to make our numbers and percentages add up to 100% ownership of the seven Avalons. https://www.dropbox.com/s/7b7omfd7hrbk9gs/Ownership%20Percentages%20%26%20Profit%20Projections.xlsSecond, everyone owns a percentage of ALL Avalon's that the group has ordered. Splitting up interest to each 7 Avalon's and making 7 different payments each month would be an accounting nightmare for me. Although there may be some downside to this for the very first investors, as others have mentioned, there are also advantages to owning a percentage in all of the Avalon's. For instance, if I ever have any technical problems with one of the Avalon's, at least you are still making BTC with the other six. Third, I am willing to commit to a temporary solution to allow the buying and selling of ownership interest at this time. I will allow you guys to transfer/sell/buy shares to whomever you want... people in the group or out of the group, either one. I don't feel like it is fair to say you MUST sell your shares to people already in the group... if someone is offering you 3x what someone in the group will, by all means.. sell your shares to the highest bidder. I have the right to suspend the selling and buying of ownership interests at any time, as this was never covered in the original investment offer, I am only trying to accommodate you guys. Ya'll must take care of all negotiating and transactions yourselves. To avoid people blaming me for transaction errors, all sales of ownership interest MUST be posted as a reply in this thread. The post to inform the group that you have sold your shares should be similar to the following format: I sold 1 BTC of my interest to <insert name> who would like to receive his dividends at <insert bitcoin address>. The amount of shares you're selling must be in BTC. Ownership transactions are non reversible, so make sure you get paid first. I highly recommend you change your password on the forums to something secure, and something that you don't use on any other sites. I will not be held responsible for your account getting hacked and someone selling your shares to themselves.I hope this temporary solution is OK for most of you, thanks, Ch Regarding point 3; Too complicated, error prone, slow, etc. Isn't this the reason we're developing the bitcoin economy? This sort of thing can be completely automated (for the admin end) in bitcoin. For each transfer of share, the seller uses his private key to sign a text block with the buyers bitcoin address and email, handle, whatever. The block is easily authenticated against the sellers address and the database of shareholders updated. When CH wants to run a dividend transaction, he uses a script to format the shareholder table into a bitcoin transcation and calculates the dividends. It doesn't need to be flash. I could write the form/updater script in PHP but there's probably more capable PHP or perl developers here that could do a better job than me, and deliver quickly. Sam.

And... let the trading begin! Well, I'll stick with the trade-suggestion I made earlier. If someone wants to part with (a portion of) their share for a price with a maximum of a 20% addon, let me know.

Sam.
Some members have PMed me wanting to sell shares as of a few days ago. This is only a temporary solution. I like your idea, there are a few ways we can go about it. I'm not a great programmer I will let it be known. I was just going to write a simple script. If you want to make something fancy then I would compensate you in some way, especially if you can add automatic payments of dividends. I know a couple of people PMed me about ideas like this, that said they could program it for us too, but I have a million PMs and can't find the messages. Does anyone have any other ideas of controlling ownership/paying dividends? Sorry this whole thing is kind of disorganized. I was really expecting to only raise enough to buy one Avalon at first, but people kept PMing me wanting to join in with us. Otherwise, I would have worked these problems out sooner and had a plan from the get-go. At least we have a month to figure it out. Thanks

I've messaged the above members re: my shares. Like it's been mentioned, I appreciate CH accommodating transfers. I think we will be wildly successful, but just want to lower my exposure. FYI: current high bid is 1.6x. Is it worth starting a new bidding thread?

Well, I'm not going to enter a bidding war at this stage, that this surely will turn into Is it worth starting a new bidding thread?
Why not do that on our new forum.

CoinHoarder, Hey, I just checked your ownership spreadsheet and you have me down as 53.099 coins, but to my reckoning I only invested 50 BTC. Lots of topics here. As one of the original investors I'd like to weigh in a bit on machine allocation. I'm ok with the plan to distribute investments evenly across all machines. It egalitarian and greatly simplifies accounting. None of this machine-labeling nonsense. Early investors will feel, though, like their investment has been diluted by later investments, (and that was one of the reasons that I kept adding shares ... to offset that dilution a bit).
CoinHoarder, I'm happy with the Ownership Percentages that you came up with for the mining pool ... once you have all 7 miners. Now here's the kicker. How would you feel about doing that 6 more times. Actually I'd be happy to help with this. As I see it people should be added to the pool with the skin they had at the time of EACH purchase. As you begin receiving shipment, shares from the group of investors that enabled you to buy that miner are added to the ownership roster. This gives early investors their "premium" for having skin in the game early on, and it allows later investors to share the risk of any one miner going down.
Any thoughts in this regard would be much appreciated. Thanks

Ok before I sound like a complete a**hole. I should mention a compromise, say 50% ownership until "your" miner arrives. After that then you're 100% vested. So here are the scenarios: - 1. Everyone's 100% vested from the begining
- 2. Once the nth miner is received only shared that helped buy all miner up to that one are 100% vested
- 3. Once the nth miner is received shared not represented by the remaining miners are only 50% vested
