Here is another one. One or two liner posts that are generic and does not really add anything to the conversation. Also note the quoted posts from newbie or junior accounts which are probably from the same farmer. The post count and activity count are the same.

I found more here. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=875065 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=769067 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=669148 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=893727

Pretty good chance Cantoner is an alt of knowhow, a guy who had a lot of BCT accounts and did a lot of account farming. He and all his alts got banned for spam, so the account "Cantoner" is probably banned too. No solid proof linking them, but they talk way too similarly. The other alts might have been also farmed by him, and banned.

Surprised how many farmed accounts there are.

Cantoner has not posted since may, so may have been banned. But most others I have listed, and even on the same list as Cantoner, are still active.
As you know, we can't tell if an account is banned or not. We can only see last activity.
Only mods, staff and admin can see ban status, rather annoyingly.

Cantoner was on an alphabetical list. These list appear to be interconnected, making it most likely the work of one farmer.
One farmer with hundreds of accounts - just like Knowhow?

Please tell me,
Was there mass banning of accounts related to Knowhow? (was that based on random individual member reports, or more thorough like here)
How long ago was that?
Can you link any threads, or u=#?

-------------------

bbc.reporter,

u=668256 is already listed by me. Also u=669148. (see summary on page 3, will update again soon)
The other 3 are outside or my target u=range at the moment.

My target area is u=500000 - u=700000. (because of your original list) When I feel I have properly covered that period, maybe I'll expand my search forward/back from there.
Please keep looking.

Thanks.

Cantoner was banned but clearly not all his other related accounts were. (see the list he is on here)
In fact, it could only be a tiny percentage that were banned, as nearly all I have listed (and connected) are still active.
(or was there just lots of zero post accounts banned as mentioned in bbc.spammer thread?)

I wondered, "Was there mass banning of accounts related to Knowhow? (was that based on random individual member reports, or more thorough like here)"
Was it just 1 or 2 accounts involved/banned?

BadBear will have likely only found the ones from the IP(s) connected directly to KnowHow. I've asked Cyrus to look into it further.

Two to three years ago, I would have naively gone to a thread that was auctioning a Bitcointalk account, in hopes of having acquired a good that I could hope to resell for a profit. However, after actually having visited sections outside of the Politics and Society subsection, I've come to realize that there's actually a lot of risk associated with account trading, you could end up buying an account that was hacked, which can later be recovered, or an account that already has a loan out.

I feel like the decision to allow account farming on this forum was made so the forum administrator could profit from them, as he is the sole beneficiary from this. I'll explain why I think this is the case.

Account farmers will put on a signature ad, making the service advertised more popular. In return, the companies whose ads are placed will pay the people who have the ads in their sigs. I bet you're wondering, where does the Admin come in this? Well, occasionally, some private business owners will want to take it further, and to try and attract more users, they will donate to the forum to get the cool gold coins under their name. Ultimately, there is a cozy relationship that is formed between the forum administrator and the Bitcoin casino companies/exchanges.

OP is a detective. You can be a FBI agent. Your findings on those A, B, C, D starting accounts ... and so forth are shocking everyone. Maybe they are all knowhow's alts.

You are a spam finder, I am a scam finder. Let's shake hands.

This thread should be shown to all campaign managers that accept newbie accounts to member accounts. Those campaigns are vulnerable to the click farmers exploitation. Unless some of the campaigns are also part of the scheme.

For the more advanced let me try this list on you, involving potato power from bbc. list. (this is the oldest accounts on bbc. list. pre names pattern.)
Note the generally higher post counts.

They start very slightly different but...  and Nov 20!
Time scale 30 minutes. 5 farmed accounts, 600 spam posts.

I showed how they all posted on similar days while ranking up.
Lets look again at these proven farmed accounts, see what they are doing now.

A couple are inactive (cobblelyf, pianomasta, frostice) maybe banned? maybe dormant?
potatopower can't get enrolled in a campaign yet. He is wearing idsoption.com sig, just applied Sept 7.

The other 9 are enrolled in idsoption.com campaign. ALL 9 (soon to be 10?) in the same campaign! I have notified the manager.
ALL are posting 1 line spam, taking seconds to write.
ALL are posting 5 post in a session.
ALL are posting on rota, usually taking less than 5 minutes to produce 5 posts.

Look at the posts from yesterday, Sept 7.

greatr          7.56, 7.57, 7.58, 7.59, 7.59  (pm)   3 minutes, 5x 1 line posts.
useless4       8.01, 8.02, 8.02, 8.03, 8.03  (pm)   2 minutes, 5x1
funbarrel      8.15, 8.16, 8.16, 8.17, 8.37  (pm)   22 minutes, 5x1. distracted on that last post. maybe why a 20 minute gap till..
ontrakk        9.08, 9.09, 9.09, 9.10, 9.12  (pm)   4 minutes, 5x1
purebitco      9.17, 9.18, 9,18, 9.20, 9.21  (pm)   4 minutes, 5x1
airsounds      9.25, 9.26, 9.28, 9.29, 9.30   (pm)  5 minutes, 5x1
fireball4        9.37, 9.38, 9.38, 9.39, 9.40   (pm)  3 minutes, 5x1,
oceanriver     9.45, 9.46, 9.47, 9.48, 9.49   (pm)  4 mnutes, 5x1,
angtyswamp  9.51, 9.55, 9.55, 9.56, 9.59  (pm)   8 mintes, 5x1,

45x 1 line posts in 2 hours from 13 listed farmed accounts.
There are some gaps in the rota, maybe I missed someone somewhere.

But it goes on, of course. How about.. (still Sept 7 posts)

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=553575  skysblu (174)       12.15, 12.16, 12.19, 12.20, 12.22 (am)   7 min 5x1
Ok, all AM instead of PM. But wait, there are 5 more later..                             10.34, 10.36, 10.39, 10.40, 10.40 (pm)   6 min 5x1

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=553583  dragunfly (160)    12.24, 12.26, 12.27, 12.28, 12.28 (am)   4 min 5x1
Same again here...                                                                                      10.24, 10.25, 10.25, 10.27, 10,29 (pm)   5 min 5x1

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=553587  ttargett (151)       12.33, 12.34, 12.36, 12.38, 12.40 (am)   7 min 5x1
and again... oh,i see, these accounts are posting in reverse order from am.      10.16, 10.19, 10.19, 10,21, 10,22 (pm)   6 min 5x1

I haven't looked any further to see if this new list (above) is longer than 3 accounts. (i dont have that spreadsheet to help)

Oh, but I have just found a hero member who fits into all this very nicely. (this account would be on a different spreadsheet and different list)

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=88178  Nimbulan (1116)    8.46, 8.47, 8.50, 8.50, 8.51 (pm, sept 7)  5 min 5x1
These posts fit between funbarrel and ontrakk, with a 10 - 15 minute gap either side. I'm still missing some!
That is now 80 1 line posts listed here. Same today, same day before. (check a few of their history's)

This is the trouble with farmed accounts. Their sole purpose is to create money for the owner. x 100's.
1 line spam in seconds. next post. x 100's of accounts.
(or in some cases it could be a couple lines, to "cover". still meaningless spam)

It is driving away real members. And the farmer is being paid handsomely to do it.
All in clear view of Theymos and the mods. (much less clearly to me and my lack of info access)

Something doesn't add up.

He must have realized that most of his campaigners all come from a single click farm. The other campaign that I have noticed who have a lot of these farmed accounts is secondstrade. I already warned the manager and he is now aware. I am surprised some click farm accounts are up to the senior member level.

@Rizzlarolla. Are there more updates? I have been sending this thread to the campaigns that have members mentioned here in this thread. It is very laughable how some of the more experienced campaign managers are still accepting spammers and farmed accounts.

I'm still a newbie and not a spam / account farmer and all of the endless spam is really turning me off using these forums.
Isn't there some systems we can put into place where it is not possible to farm accounts?

My opinion a good way to decide if an account is a spammer, is to see if he just literally repeats what someone has already said. They generally don't read what people have typed. albeit, if the thread is 9 pages, sure, but usually its good practice to read the the last page...so many people just keep repeating and repeating what has been said just to earn them campaign coins....
I've already voiced my concern and fustration in another post as well.

I dont see why campaign managers would care? I mean the whole point of campaigns is to get exposure for whatever it is, and these farming accounts post everywhere, so that is more exposure. I mean it would be nice if campaign managers cared, but likelyhood of them doing so is pretty weak imho.

Campaign managers should care and they need to have good quality with their campaigns because if not there is already a thread here that mentioned that the mods are already thinking of banning signature campaigns. Do you like that to happen? That would be unfair for the real posters here. So it would also be in our best interest to help the campaign managers protect their campaign from spammers and click farmed accounts.

You mean people saying exactly what was just said, instead of reading? Like I just did right now, just to prove your point? Cheesy

Another obvious sign is when 9+ out of 10 posters have a paid signature. The campaign I'm in recently stopped counting "the obvious spam threads" that are filled like that.

Quote
I dont see why campaign managers would care? I mean the whole point of campaigns is to get exposure for whatever it is
If the thread is mainly filled with other signature spammers, the exposure it gives the campaign will be worthless.
I notice that a lot of threads end up like this, 30 signature farmers all talking to eachother, while everybody else has abandoned that thread, even if the thread did start out useful.

My preferred "solution" now it to use the signature as an indication whether or not the post if worth reading. The bigger the signature, the less likely it's worth my time.

Says the person who have the most number of posts in the Alternate Cryptocurrencies area. Of course being a Yobit shitposter there is nothing to be surprised. So how much have you been paid to spam all of the alt section from yobit ? Maybe pennies. Worthless shit , that is what you are.

Says the person who have the most number of posts in the Alternate Cryptocurrencies area. Of course being a Yobit shitposter there is nothing to be surprised. So how much have you been paid to spam all of the alt section from yobit ? Maybe pennies. Worthless shit , that is what you are.

Said the 3 activity newbie called "Accountcreators". Lol, keep it up bro, your insecurities are being hid really nicely, and are totally not projected in your posts.

Just adding something to the list for the record. The person probably has more accounts in control than we could ever imagine. Here is one of the quotes from his threads where he offers his account piloting service. My first step of action, approaching all the campaign managers which the accounts are a part of and having them perma banned from the campaign.Yahoo already tagged and removed the two accounts~

So i was thinking to build a pilot service i will not be the one who will pilot your account. You will be done to choose of to whom are you going to     trust your account. On the other hand i will be doing the escrow service for the benefit also of your pilot at the same time i will be the one who will monitor it and sends you updates to your email so that you can take actions directly.

How much will i be paying to my pilot? It is up to both of you but i suggest to do 50-50  or a 60-40

note: for everyone, Pilot service on account is my service especially with my Co worker in company.. we have 50/50 profit. so it's up to you now. you can check it in my IP. if we are same IP until now. Goodluck master Joel

Let the moderator check my IP and if they found that i am farming other accounts. I may post a bad idea but this doesn't mean that i will allow you to destroy my image lets make deal then if ever that you are proven wrong submit your account and let it be banned for accusing Smiley
