According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

Iguana is the wallet. Just wait till it's released with a guide of how to use it.

On the request payout page, where it states: 'Please confirm your passphrase in order to proceed', I assume 'passphrase' means your 12 word seed and not the passphrase used to log onto the platform. Correct? Thanks  Smiley

Don't worry about the wallet guys! Satinder just posted a link to a new beta release, and now it is a lot less confusing.

If you want to test it you can join #iguana

The stable wallet is not yet published, and the guides are not yet published, for those please some patience Smiley

Is it necessary to have 4GB RAM to make private Komodo and Bitcoin transactions like it is necessary for ZCash private transactions?

We are a Zcash fork, so it is the same.

Address found with over 100 000 000 KMD.
The address "RDhEGYScNQYetCyG75Kf8Fg61UWPdwc1C5" has 100 118 922 KMD.
https://kpx.io/accounts/RDhEGYScNQYetCyG75Kf8Fg61UWPdwc1C5
The ICO value was about 0.0001 0000 btc / KMD. 1 * 10^8 * 10000 * 10^(-8) = 10000 BTC = 10000 * 900 dollars = 9 000 000 dollars.
The address has the value of about 10 000 BTC or 9 000 000 dollars.

From komodoplatform.com
Total BTC Raised: 2639.03. Total Amount Raised: 2 433 528 $.
Total BTCD Raised: 909983 => 909983 * 50 KMD = 45 499 150 KMD

I think this is KMD that will be distributed 31st of januari.

Follow the money ^^

yes, that is the address with the ICO coins, it is a bit over 100 mil due to the need to verify 5% APR with large value utxo. A good thing we did that as we found (and fixed) a couple bugs related to large utxo.

The distribution will be done by using normal sendtoaddress from that address to the KMD payout address from the ICO website

So, I was able to easily run the wallet on linux. I appreciate the easyness of install for ubuntu.

The wallet has me a little confused though, all the diff modes and the lack of directions..

But even though I've been following this thread, I am still confused as to what it is you guys are asking us to do. In fact I'm not going to do any voting or moving of coins anywhere, including the above quotes, until there is better info.

Also this whole request for withdrawal thing as quoted above, I don't understand. What is this for? I'm trying to stay positive, but you guys have made a really really confusing thing here. What is the road map for what we are even supposed to be doing?

In order to send you your KMD, we need an address to send it to that only you have the privkey for.

that is what we are doing now, getting addresses to send the KMD to

all we are asking you to do is tell us what address to send the KMD to so we can send it to you. The ico site provides a way to do this and to verify that the passphrase generates the same address as the request for payout.

Ahh, got it. Thanks.

And then per my reading, the address that gets generated, I will be able access from the wallet, once that gets a little furthur along?

Also, the voting ends when?

iguana uses the same method of passphrase -> KMD address

the wallet right now does this, but we havent sent out the KMD yet, so it wont be there until the 31st.

Voting ends the 29th

I just hope those that got KMD through swap will not dump on those that invested BTC into the ICO. I will not make this mistake again.

Unfortunately they rater will, so prepare fresh BTC. But the good news is, if you can hold this stress test for a month at least, I am sure you will be asking yourself how stupid they were to do this.

This confusion is over the top. Try this:

When you enter your "seed" in the ICO site and request a payout, the following is happening:

1. Your seed is related to a wallet address
2. Your KMD tokens are posted to that address on the KMD blockchain
3. You finally download and install a KMD wallet, doesn't really matter when you do it or, which KMD wallet you choose because:
4. You are going to enter the same seed in the wallet you downloaded hence the same address.
5. Your wallet will see whatever is in that address on the blockchain and there's you KMD, "in" your wallet!

You never really have anything "in" your wallet, for any coin, it's just showing your record on the blockchain attached to your address. It's the blockchain record that is important, not the wallet itself. The wallet does not have to exist for your record, and coins, to exist since they are within the blockchain, not your wallet. The key is the address provided by the seed that makes a wallet yours.

Look at your wallet like a text editor, it contains nothing until you open a file. Then, you can edit the file and save it and close the editor. The editor is nothing without the data that is in the file, simply a means to edit and save the data.

Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time. Thomas A. Edison

I think it was more or less the same price of enter in Komodo for BTC and BTCD investors because BTC went up 50% when BTCD went down 50%.
