This is a milestone for Komodo. Just like anyone else, I am hoping for a GUI to facilitate the first ever dICO if and when Monaize opens its token sale to the public.

a very fast swapping transaction indeed. I can’t wait for real time applications on atomic swap exchange that Komodo will introduce on its dICO for Monaize.

Komodo is starting to look more and more like the next big thing. I do think improvements to the wallet will help a lot with adoption and utilization.

Since barterDEX is using actual coin transactions, we need to wait for coin confirmations to get assurance that it won’t be reversed. Different coins need different number of confirms and different users are comfortable with different number of confirms for different coins.

How to reconcile this?

There is a setconfirms api call that allows to set numconfirms and maxconfirms. If this is not called, a default value will be used. Then when an atomic swap is started, both sides tell the other side how many confirms are used. To reach immediate consensus, the higher value used by either side is the number of confirms used for that trade, unless it exceeds the maximum of either side for either coin. In that case, the trade won’t work.

For KMD and assetchains, there will be a special meaning to numconfirms of 'K' and 'B'. 'K' would mean that there is a notarization that happened that includes the transaction on the KMD chain. 'B' would mean that the KMD notarization is confirmed in the BTC blockchain.

For trading between two parties that trust each other (to not mess with blockchains and to make good in case something goes wrong), zero confirmation trading is enabled. In this case, coin confirmations are not needed and things can go quite fast, but if for any reason either chain gets a small reorg (these things happen), it is possible that one or both sides of the trade will be invalidated. So, even with trusted party zeroconf trading, just do it in small increments and don’t get over exposed to unconfirmed zeroconf trades.

Use the trust api call to add a pubkey to the list of trusted nodes.

This isnt the mainstream mode for usage, but for things like trading within a trading group, it will allow such things at the discretion of the participants. It really is quite fund to see a full atomic swap complete in seconds, the record time we have seen was a bit under 10 seconds

Another feature we just tested was the 20% discount for KMD purchasers. Some might have wondered how that would be implemented since the price is fixed in terms of BTC, but is variable with KMD as its market price changes.

autoprice api!

autoprice is a very powerful API and it allows you to specify the price for a specific trading pair that is automatically updated as the marketprice of it changes. For now, it is a relatively simple set of things you can do with the following fields:

curl --url "http://127.0.0.1:7783" --data "{\"userpass\":\"$userpass\",\"method\":\"autoprice\",\"base\":\"MNZ\",\"rel\":\"KMD\",\"offset\":0.1,\"refbase\":\"KMD\",\refrel\":\"BTC\",\"factor\":15000,\"margin\”:-0.2}”

refbase and refrel allow you to specify a different base/rel pair as the basis for the price, if there is no refbase and refrel, the the base/rel price from external sources is used as the starting point. This is calculated approximately once per minute and a set
price done automatically:

setprice of (1. + margin) * ((price * factor) + offset)

The margin is usually set to 0.01 for 1% profit margin. using factor and offset it is possible to map a starting price to a standard multiple.

There is also a minprice field which sets the absolute minimum (post calculation) price that is accepted.

The above says to automatically update the MNZ/KMD price based on the KMD/BTC price, 15000 MNZ per BTC and a 20% discount. To change the price to a 10 percent discount, the margin just changes to -0.1

Some of you might have worried about the number of simultaneous atomic swaps. We are testing multiple swaps at the same time and so far, looking good:

blackjok3r [4:52 AM]
awesome work guys.

cipi [4:56 AM]
3 parallel swaps are also working and cpu is down to only 5%... must have been the weather or so... will continue tommorow with more clients and more swaps
#######

Theoretically, N-1 swaps can happen at once on one LP node where N is the number of utxos, but probably there will be some issues as we get closer and closer to N. Still everything is designed so that if a swap doesnt work, just do another one, so it would just be a bit annoying.

In recent weeks, I reduced the number of deposit utxos needed by the bob side to 1 per ongoing swap. Before it was 1 for each payment utxo available and would have make half the funds allocated to deposits. With the liquidity multiplier, it wouldnt have matter that much, but still it wasnt efficient.

Now both bob and alice side can get 99%+ of their funds active with proper utxo creation and with the liquidity multiplier there can really be a lot more effective trading volumes.

They have said that they will delist/remove any tokens that do not comply.........barterDEX will have a future under these conditions.......If the Authoratas limit where things can be traded, people will find a way around it.

One simple question. Maybe someone has the time to answer in 1-2 sentences. What is the main difference to ETH/NEO?

One thing they have in common is that neither are KMD  Roll Eyes

If you have to ask "why?", you wouldn`t understand my answer.

We are getting successful atomic swaps via GUI now and just in time for the mock dICO we plan to have next week.

I proposed that we put up real MNZ for sale on 10 servers (instead of 100) at 1:1000'th scale, so it would have approx 15000 MNZ available. Now this is about 1 BTC worth of MNZ so not that much to get excited over and it is very possible things wont go perfectly smoothly as it is a live test to make sure we are ready for the real dICO.

I also want to test whale resistance and to make sure we have a best efforts to obtain as much MNZ as possible, I will put up a 1 BTC price to the "whale" who is able to obtain the most MNZ during the dICO test.

This is a good chance to get up to speed with the barterDEX tech and we hope to find whatever is not ready during the test.

What the relation of barterDEX with Komodo. If barterDEX become a success how this could impact Komodo and why?

barterDEX is the KMD ecosystem DEX
KMD is the ecosystem coin

As one does well, the other will do well

Maybe an illustration will help?

Let us assume barterDEX is doing $10 mil per day of trading volumes. Not to crazy big, but big enough to make the point.

Now all the barterDEX GUI will have KMD prominently there to trade against. Also trading BTC is painfully slow... So what coin is most likely to be traded?

Also, KMD will have the most marketmakers and liquidity. Let us say 1% of the daily trading volume decides to park itself in to KMD as it offers the most flexibility of trading to other coins.

Alternatively, maybe some people will want to JUMBLR their trade gains, they would need to convert to KMD to be able to do that
