We have made a new policy of not announcing events or really anything newsworthy until after it is done. The whole buy the rumor/sell the news cycle is not the type of thing that is helpful for long term value growth (nor for stability). What this means is that there is no point to ask about things, when it is completed, we will announce what happened. And since there has been extreme criticisms on how we have communicated things in the past, we need to review and review and make sure everything is done to a good standard. That means it wont be ready one minute after whatever the event is. Maybe even after a week or two. We will get better and faster at turning things like this around, but for those who dont know yet, our priority is to get the cutting edge tech working and not to get short term pumps based on some press. I do appreciate the feedback everybody has, but we have limited resources as 90% of the funds raised went to investors and BTCD holders and we need to keep a significant reserve for notarizations over the years.

The main value we create is in the core tech that does what no other project has done. We will also work hard to improve our marketing side, but realistically we wont be marketing-centric anytime soon. There are plenty of other projects that are marketing-centric with not much tech, so if that is what you seek, then KMD is likely not your best coin to be invested in. If you want to be part of the coin that pioneered atomic swaps and advanced the tech frontier by first doing it via pure electrum lite nodes and then further enhanced it with 0conf speed (15 seconds), then KMD is the coin for you.

I certainly wont be changing anything in the technology pipeline based on some sell wall or complaints about short term losses. Long term KMD has done 25x to 30x in fiat terms over a year. In my book that is pretty decent. I cant even promise we will do that moving forward. However I can promise that we will do our best to deliver the best tech possible

It wont surpass zcash and it also wont surpass BTC. KMD is about integrating the best technology available into a unified ecosystem.

KMD utilizes the excellent privacy that zcash provides and adds JUMBLR layer on top of it, it also leverages the immense hashrate that BTC has to secure both itself and the assetchains.

Think of KMD like the entire car, with zcash being say the engine, the dPoW hashrate the brake system/airbags. There is a lot more to make a complete car.

KMD has much more, from the 5% APR that painlessly allows everyone to earn rewards without even running anything to barterDEX that does 0conf atomic swaps using electrum so you dont even need to have native coin daemons. The KMD ecosystem additionally has revenue producing assets and next year we will integrate CHIPS/BET/PANGEA realtime micropayments (betting) and blockchain enforced game state machine logic.

Hey I like this strategy a lot tbh, kind of like what Litecoin is doing as well. Not much marketing, but let the tech speak for itself.
Once it's ready, we'll see the test ICO, hell maybe and quite possibly we'll have different tests to come. And when it's all done and finished, KMD will write history with the first dICO and many more to come.
Take your time, get it right, and history will follow.

When will the interest claim will be available for the Ledger Nano S?
That would be really nice, does somebody has an update?

That question is asked on likely every page, you would have found an answer if you had read only one page back. I'm also waiting for this, but it has no priority for the team, I think they want us to use Agama.

Its not that it has no priority, it is that the ledger wallet is custom wallet unlike any other and likely I am the only one on the team that would be able to eventually get it working. But it needs a dev environment setup that in itself is not so easy to setup and it is not clear how much time it would take me.

I decided that it is better to get barterDEX and other things I know I can do finished than work on adding interest support to a third party wallet, as important as it is for people who use ledger.

An alternate way is to derive the privkey from the ledger passphrase, which also can be done and then import it into agama, but that sort of defeats the purpose of ledger, so it is not a prioritized approach.

We are actively seeking contractor that are able to do this and funds allocated for it, so it isnt "no priority".

For those with the illusion that this sort of work is easy, let me assure you that it isnt something you can just have any coder do. There is always the fallback of deriving the privkey, but we continue to look for a proper solution. An dev experienced with the ledger wallet could do this in less than a day, that is why my hope is that ledger itself will do this as they must surely have ledger wallet experienced coders.

The ledger wallet code is not anything we wrote. I posted detailed instructions on ledger github so their devs can get it done very quickly.

I got an answer from btchip (Ledgerwallet CTO) on Reddit concerning my question about claiming interest with the Nano S, it doesn't look good at the moment: "It's too complex to add this to our current coin selection mechanism. Pull Requests are welcome though"
