Yes, that repository belongs to the Github of ZCash foundation and ZCash foundation is made up of ZCash developers. It should be safe. Thank ! And which addresses can I use, T or Z? I used to read that using Z-addresses can cause problems. Don't use Z addresses until and unless you really want to keep your balance private. Z-addresses are fairly difficult to handle. Therein lies the problem, having both T and Z addresses: (a) complex and error-prone (b) kills privacy because people don't use stealth addresses Not only that, these jokers forced you to move all your coins to T for sapling... Long story short... ZEC has zero privacy = chainanalysis will expose everything... ycash does not address any of this... sell into pump. Down 25-30% versus BTC in 2 weeks since the Pump... Devs have already drained $300-400 million and will draining this bitch to zero.. zk algos are ubiquitous on multiple platforms today (see something like self-replicating zk VMs with REN)

Yup! One of my worst investments and definitely worst in 2019 It's so poor satoshi-wise that if BTC goes to 20k usd, Zec will still be 100 usd (0.005 BTC). And I am not joking at all.

Privacy Cryptocurrency Zcash Prepares for "Friendly" Forkhttps://www.coindesk.com/privacy-coin-zcash-will-soon-undergo-its-first-friendly-fork-meet-ycash?utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=coindesk&utm_term=&utm_content=&utm_campaign=Organic%20In about five hours, the privacy-oriented cryptocurrency Zcash will spawn a new blockchain network called Ycash.
It’ll be the first of its kind to boast a near-identical codebase to the Zcash blockchain but function as a separate network and de facto competitor.
First announced in April, the effort is spearheaded by long-time Zcash supporter Howard Loo. Loo described in a Zcash forum post that Ycash was a preemptive move to resist future community decisions that may extend Zcash’s system of developer funding known as the “Founder’s Reward” beyond a promised 10 percent cap of total token supply.

"Friendly Fork" YCash brought me bad luck and loss of btc. Droped it as a toxic contagion. In vain the ZCash Foundation supported YCash

ZEC would probably finish as failed experiment. Sadly, but it is what it is... With mimble-wimble, there's no need for outdated ZKsnarks anymore.

What about zkstarks? Mimble wimble is a good alternative to the outdated privacy tech but isn't it will become the next outdated tech when another platform will develop a new tech that was better than mimble wimble? this story will always continue and competition will always there.

Bitcoin is outdated badly yet worth the most. You need reliable tech that has been battle tested. New tech for a coins is not better as they are more vulnerable to exploits

...and he shamelessly ask for more money. Support your devs! Nobody works for free. They've done a good job and nobody else could do it better. Miners will not code zcash and a network is worthless without good devs.

Funny pic i'd have to admit
But seriously. If you wanted a no dev fund or low dev fund there's always Ycash. And I wouldn't touch that with a 10 ft pole in comparison to zcash.
Yes he's probably rich but worked hard and deserves it. If you made groundbreaking cryptographic advancement then you do deserve good pay.
At the same time I'm also concerned about zcash underperformance in valuation. Is he just continuely going to be dumping his zcash on the markets suppressing down the price for many years in order to fund development? If so that's not good for investors and we need more transparency of how much zcash they are selling on the markets per month to fund development. Or they need to put a monthly cap of how much they sell on the markets in order for the markets to absorb those cost in a healthy way.

Do you remember the strange (to put it mildly) situation when the wallet developer (forgot his name) had to ask the crypto community for money for food, because Zuko and his "foundation" did not pay him a salary? As far as I can see, the money of the "fund" goes first to satisfy the gluttony of the founders, and not to programming.
