The stock market is 70% overvalued ... crash now inevitable

Author Charles Dickens' classic, A Tale of Two Cities, begins this way: "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness ... ."

According to one stock market analytical firm, GMO, today's market behavior resembles Dickens' book, which was published in 1859 and was set during the time of the French Revolution some seven decades earlier.

As the firm noted, in recent days much of the investing and financial world was focused on a meeting in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, attended by Federal Reserve chairperson Janet Yellen. But GMO analysts were watching other things and events happening in the market.

In August, the firm noted in its monthly report – reproduced in part by Zero Hedge – that Shiller P/E, a respected metric for measuring U.S. equities valuation, surpassed 27. Given that normally its range is somewhere slightly above 16, it appears that valuations are looking a bit larger than they should be.

What's more, GMO noted, the last time the Shiller P/E was above 27 was in October 2007, "and we all know how that movie ended," the GMO report said.

'A tale of mediocrity, at best'

And though no one at the analytical firm is saying that the nation and the world are set to experience another Great Recession and near-meltdown of the global economic order – and nothing is written in stone saying that stocks are not allowed to become more expensive – "we continue to maintain our bias against U.S. stocks," the firm said in its report.

At the same time, the firm said, it was tracking a widening disconnect between fundamentals of the U.S. economy, corporate America and their stocks. "It really is a tale of two cities," the analytics firms said, "one of mediocre fundamentals versus a meteoric rise in markets."

In assembling some relevant metrics pertaining to the overall health of the economy and some top-line/bottom-line figures from the S&P 500 index, the firm looked at gross domestic product growth, productivity and household income, in addition to some others like revenue and earnings for U.S. stocks, just to round out the assessment.

"It is a tale of mediocrity, at best," the firm wrote in its report.

After that, analysts contrasted those metrics with actual market returns of the S&P 500 Index spanning the past five years. "Truly meteoric," the firm wrote, adding this caveat: "As an aside, we at GMO have always been leery of drawing too many investment conclusions from staring at economic data–we are more valuation-oriented, after all–but even we are struck by the divergence."

Cool

Because many companies are now investing to bitcoins.we can make it too. Bitcoin has a higher value in the market nowadays. We can go with the rising value of it. And there are many ways to spend it just like what the real money does.

According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

Yes, I agree with you. Despite the fact that now there are many different alternative coins, people most of all trust and invest in bitcoin.
Growing popularity is the main reason for investing in bitcoin now.

What is the number of bitcoiners around the globe?
Some say less than 1M, maybe 1M, 2M or 3M at most.

What if 10M new people enter the Bitcoin world? Not in a country or in a continent, anything in the world. The price would skyrocket, specially if they decide to invest more than the current average. With the Internet would not be an unrealistic scenario.

Bitcoin without precedent, so there is real usage and people that would benefit from it, so the odds are in favor of valuation, in my opinion

No, it's never too late to invest in bitcoin. If you are going to see that there are a lot of newcomers and hoping that they will still go with the line upon investing in bitcoin. You may miss the moment two years ago but it is still not enough to say that you will miss those good years to come with bitcoin, we always hope for those years to come to become the best.

People also said that they were too late to invest in Bitcoin at the time the price reached $100 for the first time -- look where we stand right now. Bitcoin's future potential is gigantic, and thus we haven't seen even 10% of all this (yes, I strongly believe that at some point the price will smash through the $10,000 level). Long term minded people will jump on board at current levels without any problems, assuming they realize/understand Bitcoin's potential.

There is no late on investing when it comes to bitcoin, its not your fault if you have just discovered it recently, there is no requirement on buying BTC so you still have the opportunity to purchase bitcoin and believe the potential that you will be rich just by holding it.

Since Bitcoin is deflationary, it should continue to gain in value over time unless Bitcoin fails for some reason. So it is really never a bad time to invest because the price will theoretically keep rising.

Yes! Bitcoin is still good to invest or earn today, Because even if bitcoin crashes to 30% , Its still the highest  virtual currency in world. I regret earning bitcoin in the past years 2009 since bitcoin has been introduce.  Cry. I'm not even serious in earning in the free faucets giving 5k satoshis per claim! I Thought it was kind of scam. But nowadays look at the price of bitcoin still kicking. So for me Bitcoin is still the best and good investment for now.

It's our money that we are risking and we are all looking for better return, the price now is still at $1,000 so it will certainly grow overtime.
Bear in mind that the longer bitcoin will exist, more people will be attracted as the community is never tired of spreading the good news.

I Thought it was kind of scam. But nowadays look at the price of bitcoin still kicking. So for me Bitcoin is still the best and good investment for now.

true. we may have encounter a fall down to its price but still bitcoin's price is moving up.. its a good long term investment. i know it will hit more thn 2000$ in no time. we just have to be patient.
It's our money that we are risking and we are all looking for better return, the price now is still at $1,000 so it will certainly grow overtime.
Bear in mind that the longer bitcoin will exist, more people will be attracted as the community is never tired of spreading the good news.

Bitcoin has a good history of being a certified comeback kid...many times it was down then after some days it is back kicking up again. The same is true right now and this can happen again and again once problems can crop up and they need solutions. As the first and the original, it has already created an adequate branding and goodwill. Bitcoin is the leader and all the rest are just followers or even wannabes. The most important thing is that we should not panic and make decision regarding Bitcoin we are holding with wisdom and good basis.

So for me Bitcoin is still the best and good investment for now.

especially bitcoin current price is still around $ 1,000. whereas many people predict that the price will be at $ 1,500 this year. I think now the right time to save and buy bitcoin

bitcoin is really a good investment as it can give us a good profit only for holding it, as people are expecting that the price is going to raise too high in next few months therefore it will be really a good investment.
