counter point, maybe the video is of Luke's lab to begin with and he had the hardware for a while?

not cheering BFL, just adding constructive argument.

And to think there's members here who are jacking off all over themselves after reading the OP, perhaps ready to order more.

How is this related to the pic in the OP of which is supposed to be Luke's unit?

If you look very closely in the picture, you can see the address where it's mining at. That's the stats for the miner.

Therefore it's mining in KC. If still in doubt take another look at this video (only 2 min. long): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4C4bgho5JSI

I do not dispute that. But it is mining. Smiley

Now I'm getting a bit worried about my batch 3 Avalon...

Maybe that ASIC in BFL lab has Luke's name on it? You can interpret his OP in different ways.

You sure should be. Avalon batch 3 ROI will be something like 180 days if lucky.

What's their current preorder numbers look like? Also what about monthly wafer yield? LAst i hear it was around 5000chips received ever. Unit in pictures looks like 30GH/s single which uses 8 chips, we could try calculating shipping timeframe from there, that's when they actually start shipping.

This is too funny...

My anger against what is wrong in the Bitcoin community is productive:
Bitcointa.lk - Replace "Bitcointalk.org" with "Bitcointa.lk" in this url to see how this page looks like on a proper forum (Announcement Thread)
Hashfast.org - Wiki for screwed customers

Well, that's still making some hefty assumptions about what BFL will be able to deliver and how quickly.

Also, here's some more info from Luke on IRC:

Code:
<removed>

(Removed off-topic chatter, this was in a big channel so assuming public info)

EDIT: Removed IRC conversation as channel was public but not logged

Good catch, how big was the March31 bet on non production?

IRC seems to indicate he touched it, or maybe even licked it, and claimed it was his now  Grin

So if I'm seeing things right, it's one unit doing 23.23 GH and consuming 179 watts.  That's about 7.7 watts per GH.

At that rate a 60 GH Single SC would require 462 watts, which would need to be split into 4 separate units to keep each under 120 watts.

That would be ~ 115.5 watts per 15 GH unit.

I've got 2 Single SC's on order, so that would be about 924 watts total load, or about 665 kWh per month.  At my rate of $0.25 per kWh, they would cost about $166 per month to run them.

924 watts for 2 SC's is a far cry from the 120 watts I was expecting.  But hopefully they'll improve things before they ship more out.
