Unfortunately for this bet, Luke posted 36 minutes after April 1. 96 minutes after, by Eastern time, which is BoB time. Still 36 minutes after, Luke's time. Also "The device must achieve at least 75% of its advertised hashrate." Which product was your order for Luke? A Single or a Little Single? If it is indeed sitting in a Lab at BFL, I would consider it neither shipped nor delivered. Hell, it's not even finished. It's still naked. |

I don't see how getting a unit to Luke-Jr is anything remotely like shipping.
Luke-Jr, wether he is payed by BFL or not, is needed to actually finish the product.
It was not shipped to him as a product, it was shipped to him fully within the design process.
Shipping would be when actual customers will get their boxes with the intention to be used as miners and not development platforms.
Luke is just a BFL worker and he's working on an un-shipped prototype.
The question you need to ask yourselfs is, was a finished product shipped?
If not, then it was still in design.
Big hint, BFL website does not read 'WE'RE SHIIIPIIING!!@111!!!~!'
Clearly this is just a trick to try to convince everyone BFL won the stupid bet.
So actually nothing new, just more smoke and mirrors from out friends in Kansas.

Passively cooling an Core i5/i7 is already a challenge, and that's only ~90 W. 180 W with such small heatsinks? Well, if it's ok for the chips to run @ 150°C... |

Has this already been asked or am i just stupid:
BFG shows a hashrate of 23 GH/s - but i see what appears to be 2 devices - due to the power (read heat) generation are they chaining two boards together to get to the 23 GH/s rate?
Or do we just a have a super long single...

25GH for a mini single which draws 179W, almost the same power consumption as avalon, but I heard there is a wafer by wafer difference in chip's power consumption, could be lower than that number, but 120W at least. So 240W for a full single running at 60GH, with that amount of heat, open rig is the only choice  So indeed that is a shipped product, everyone have to run it like that, and there is a turbo blow fan on the left side of the heatsink, not in the photo  |

It simply requires a non-BFL employee to post pictures to bitcointalk of a hashing unit with a hashrate within 75% of advertised rate. The bet has been technically fulfilled, except for a question on the timestamp of the post and whether the bet applies to Eastern Time or any time zone. All of this is completely useless for indications of shipping outside of that bet, except that it does show that true shipping will happen soon, and that bfgminer will support it. |

Well Avalon delivered 1-3 prototype units, @more than their advertised power consumption, just so they could say they shipped before March 1st. Then used Batch#2 funds to produce their Batch#1 orders. On those grounds the BFL 'Yes' vote wins |

Judging from those small heat sinks added above and below the PCB board, they are pushing it too much. The board is not designed for this kind of power load, many small conponents get overheated and require additional cooling. They need to re-design the board
