the issue with using bitcoins is that here in the UK, if you dont have them already there not easy to get. we dont have coinbase or anything like that :-(

if you replied to my post then I dont understand why BTC is not easy to get. I guess a few hours of mining can do that. We are talking about .001-.01 BTC of donation I guess or I have completely no idea about how many people use cudaminer.

when your talking that much then yeh that is pretty easy, i probably have that left in a wallet from old transactions.
but if say only the dedicated of us choose to get it, the donation is a lot higher.

to buy bitcoins in the UK you ahve to find someone you trust, bank transfer your money, then hope they send it

In my mind cryptocurrency is all about community and that dilutes the cost of anything while not hurting the creator. Say if we have 1000 donations 0f .001 then it is 1 BTC and this is apart from people donate at special occasions like a coin launch profit.
What do you think about my concept for CUDAcoin to use?

as a point, noone is going to be willing to pay over $30 each to get the program. if your a big miner yes, but when you arent, why should you? its a miner to get a single coin. we already know one is coming out for amd, and one for nvidia, the coins value is going to drop like a stone

that $30 you just spent may get you nothing once amd jump on the coin. and yes this was for a select group of peopel for early access, like those of us that spent hours compiling and testing launch configs for the maxcoin launch, the config i found that everyone still uses btw :-) and the god knows how many hours i spent compiling and testing

I get that it's not easy to come up with a substantial amount upfront. If one can't mine it back, then it's kinda pointless. Otoh,  demanding something and setting low ball "donations", i.e. "I want it, and at the price I determine" is at best spamming and wasting everyone's time.

I'm mostly saying this to prevent that the most talented people of the community end up becoming fed up and leave or slow down to a crawl. I've seen it a few times, either someone that optimized scrypt OpenCL, the dude that modded ATI bios to lower the vram latency, etc...

I'd be more than okay with running a binary blob that hardwires a portion of the mined coins to christian's wallet directly.
If there needs to be an incentive over hashing by himself rather than distributing it, then he can easily do the math as a lot of us command well over a dozen cards worth of hashpower.
Distribute it in binary form to even a few folks and you'll be making 0.25btc a day look like a joke.

Well Christian is generous to release it for free and we are looking for a way to pay him back instead of odd donations by some people. I guess he would like this idea.

I guess problem with that idead is that cudaminer is open source and anyone can change the code. Well i have stirred the hornet's nest here I think

I have not noticed on any of the forums about Nvidia Geforce Experience boosting Kh/s, so I figured I would mention it. I noticed (by accident) that when I had it open and minimized my Kh/s went from 17.53 up to 19.70. I don't know why it does this, but it seems to work consistently. Just a tip to help all the Geforce users out there to squeeze every bit out of Nvidia cards.

This got buried in all the post so I am posting this again.

And as for the CUDAcoin you can create a coin that doesn't allow anyone to have more than certain share of nethash as time passes. this will certainly be a coin that will be truly distributed with time. e.g. we can have

1-10000 blocks allow max 50% of hash for one source
10001-50000 blocks allow 25% of hash for one source

and so on

Now I am not a programmer or expert on cryprocurrency so I have no idea if this is possible but IMHO this is a novel idea.

Please post your thoughts on this.
