If a coin uses hefty1, why do we need to use -a mjollnir  algo to mine it? Why not  -a hefty1  ?

they both use hefty... however there are changes in the hash length (I think) to accommodate the voting system in one...
Mjollnir didn't have a vote like Heavycoin but both use hefty... and both are dead especially Mjollnir  Grin
lol, I still have my instamine for Mjollnir...

Because hefty1 is not a supported algorithm in ccminer. If you look closely, you actually end up with the ccminer default algorithm (heavy) when you do something like -a thisthingdoesnotexist. There's only heavy and mjollnir, both of which make use of hefty1 as part of the whole but are definitely not just hefty1. SCSY dev saying the coin algo is hefty1 is like saying X11 is blake. It might be a part of the whole but a horribly inaccurate description of the algorithm as a whole.

TL;DR SCSY dev doesn't know what he/she/it is talking about when he/she/it calls the algo hefty1.

Apparently it's just the mjollnir algo, the dev's just making if confusing by calling it hefty1.

Yes And the SCSY dev is going to change cccminer I think so the bat file will read   -a hefty1  for the relaunch. But mjollnir works with the wallet gpu mining to it but not the pool.

Grin may-be he should also call it heftyminer  Grin (they probably used sha256 instead of sha256d merkle root... or the inverse... that's why it doesn't work on pool)

To be fair even the original Heavycoin dev made things a bit confusing with his naming. The heavycoin algo, as I prefer to call it, is a combination of something that's called HEFTY-1 and some more familiar hashes like sha256, blake256 etc. Why the dev would state the coins algo is HEFTY-1 when it's a combination algo is beyond me. Quote from the übermaster aka cbuchner:

Quote
HeavyCoin is a mix of 5 algorithms, one being newly invented for this coin.
HEFTY-1 is a SHA256 derivative with added fairy dust to make it "GPU resistant" and "ASIC resistant". IMHO neither of these objectives have been met (we implemented the first nVidia GPU miner for it)
The hash algorithm adds SHA256, blake256, groestl512, keccak512 into the mix by hashing 84 bytes block header + the above 32 byte HEFTY1 hash with each algorithm and performing a bitwise interleaving of bits from each resulting hash.

Hey guys, can you suggest a good coin to mine with the best efficiency using 750ti?

With the Bitcoin crash in January (price down 35%), Darkcoin X11 is good mining opportunity because the price should readjust upwards by 16%-33%. Those mining for Fiat Currency will be unwilling to exchange DRK for BTC (which is normally exchanged for Fiat Currency) for December's old price of 0.006. They will delay selling for up to 30 days to see what is happening BTC price (if a recovery happens). The price for mining DRK is already up 6%.  Old price paid: 0.00013BTC per GHS. You'll get about 3ghs out of a 750TI.

The other big boys and older crypto currencies are trending upwards, LTC up 11% in 24 hours, Dogecoin up 15% in 3 days. But, you can't mine those with GPU's and the flagship bearer for GPU miners is Darkcoin. So, it would be a surprise if it's price does not continue to trend upwards. Undervalued coins to mine is VTC (bigger in Europe, then it is in the USA). Block halving is in 2018, expect 30 million coins to be issued to miners up to the Block Halving.

FTC (another big boy of crypto) is currently under CCminer development, it is under a crowdfunding appeal under this thread (you are better off mining something else and doing a swap on a exchange):
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=916336.0

Alternatively, you can have a look into new coins, there are 3-4 launches each month? Very High risk, but 1 in 25 will turn a big profit (the rest will be entries in your loss column).

Or, you can mine BTC directly via Nicehash and WestHash

Download the multi-algo profit swithing software for nicehash and westhash from here:

http://cryptomining-blog.com/4054-miner-control-1-6-pack-for-nvidia-geforce-gtx-750-ti/

Access the config file and delete out Yamp (low payouts for switching software) and wafflepool (gone bust) and trademybit (gone bust). Put in your BTC wallet address (you can use a BTC exchange address as well).

You need the latest modded (improved) CCMiner.exe windows application as well.

http://cryptomining-blog.com/4151-updated-windows-binary-of-the-ccminer-1-5-29-git-fork-by-sp-for-maxwell/

Copy the ccminer.exe (application) out of this download and delete old ccminer.exe in the Miner Control pack for Nicehash/Westhash. Paste the updated version in CCminer.exe into the Miner Control pack for Nicehash/Westhash.

X11 3mhs
X13 2.45mhs
X15 2.1mhs
Nist5 9.5mhs
Lyra2 0.7mhs

And, off you go. Remember: make wise investments with your earnings?

YAAMP, at the moment, has a great offer on one specific algo (go find out yourself which one Tongue ), don't ignore it Wink

Thanks for that, with Yamp its' best to pick 1 algo and stay on it because the coins are traded for BTC each day. With Nicehash/Westhash jumping around from algo on profitability is best because the people hiring hashpower pay in BTC and it can driop to a very low price on algos througthout the day Shocked

Tip taken, though!  Roll Eyes

Nicehash/Westhash is good when new coin launch occur, people go there to buy huge hashing power to get a big amount of coins in those short launch windows. X11 Goldpieces was launched last week and people were paying up 0.00044 per mhs over the 1 week. X13 new coin launches during December people were paying up to 0.0003.

It is a bit low there at moment when there is no new coin launches.
