Anybody mining anything other than XCN?
Is it worth the effort?!
last time I checked XCN was not at top of profitability?

Anybody mining anything other than XCN?

child isn't that bad, i think it's a little more profitable than xcn

Anybody mining anything other than XCN?
nope... but if you want to mine a coin all for yourself (not caring about profitability... can't have everything ) whirlcoin or talkcoin are good

whirlcoin is another victim of this bad era, i still dream that it will take off

yeah me too... I still have my bounty... few weeks ago, I was doing some test on whirlpool algo on suprnova, got a pm from a guy wanting to know if I was doing some test (or else...)  Grin and later on, I discovered that I was owning half of the net hashrate  (I switched to solo, was getting a block per minute or worst... )

those are stock? i am seriously considering an SLI on the 970's right now, i think a 3 way sli on 970's will have more power then sli 980's

djm, when your 980's come in, would you mind doing a full 3DMark run with them SLi'd for me please? the same as above to compare with

Not bad, 6MHash/s, that's what I get with my 780ti
Yeh and lower power usage aswell. not even utilising compute 5.2 yet either

damn it, I should have bought a third one  Grin (actually, the cpu will clearly be (and is already) the bottleneck in my system... I would have to change my mobo for SLI 3way too...)
will do the 3dmark6.
regarding compute 5.2 it is difficult to say what it will bring (haven't checked yet...)

edit: 2 gtx 980 for SLI and one 780ti for physx should be enough though...

edit2: And all that to play call of duty where it is impossible to find other player to play with...  Cry

Call of Duty? **shakes head**
You have to play something better then that. Why do you have to have better gpu's then me? Sad
I think aslong as performance scales, 3 970's will be ideal without being stupidly expensive. I am hoping for a drop down to £200 each for Christmas, so a drop of ~£60, that would make a 3 way sli just a little more then a single 980 lol

i know my motherboard currently supports 3 way sli, in 2.0 x16 x16 x4 lol

I intend to, then ramp up the overclocks. my 780 doesn't ever hit 45'c with the pump on its lowest setting so 3 970's should watercool easily

I have 2x Palit GTX 970 delivered yesterday, not impressed so far, think they might be going for a return trip back up the river in a couple of weeks if nobody works any magic.

I am getting the following rates, per card, using driver 344.16, with +200gpu & +200mem

XCN 8mh
XMR 440h
X13 4.8mh
Scrypt Jane 6KH

Not tried BBR yet cause can't get 970's to work with Kopiemtu

System is drawing aprox 380w (not inc display) at wall, AMD quad core cpu so the 970's are using aprox 100w per card.

what results are you comparing them against to not be impressed? the algo's are not optimised yet, everyone knows that.
You pay the same for a 970 as you would have fr 2 750ti's at launch

anything over double performance is an improvement, and at double you have saved density

I don't think I'm quite getting double the 750ti's yet.

Comparing to my 750ti's, for a few more ££'s I could get 3x 750ti's for every 970.  I was hoping for the 970 performance to be at least 2x that of the 750ti's.  Will wait patiently for optimisations.  I have been tinkering with the look up gap whilst mining scrypt Jane, so can see there is loads of room for improvement.

Regarding density, there are now single slot GT 750 and 750 TI cards. So one can put 5 of these onto one mainboard without using any risers. These rigs will then fit into more compact cases.
