Canaan finally got off their duffs a couple hours ago and sent me the BTC amount/address for 2x of the 741's that I placed an order for 3 days ago (they were out of 721's). That said, once they get this far they seem to move fast so I'll hopefully have the pair by the end of the week and will post how they do.

So far aside from this issue with what Awesome Miner reports

my 3x 721's run flawlessly. Per the Avalon GUI the trio run a perfectly smooth 19-20THs and CKpool reports a steady 18.5-19.xx THs.

I'm waiting to hear from Patrike as to what those 40+THs spike are all about.

Looks like Canaan may have dropped the 721's - they are no longer shown on their website. It now only shows the 741 and their controller.

Yup. Maybe will introduce some higher powered model also. Or give nic discount on 741, although with latest S9 prices, seems unlikely.

guys,  just wanted to update you on the status of my avalon 741 order

just be aware that they are having major problems with customer order fulfillment.  this is an order direct from the mfgr in Hong Kong China

i placed my order for 2x 741s and 1 usb controller on Feb. 12 - nearly one month ago.  requested and paid for using BTC rather than wire.

since then I have been getting the roundabout from customer service regarding when if ever my order is gonna ship.  they are sitting on my investment and it is just dead money esp. when i could be mining already with a different miner like bitmain s9.  really frustrating given the recent price spike the money i should be earning right now as return on investment. 

so i am feeling very frustrated at this point and really skeptical about the whole asic miner industry.  i asked for a refund but also they refused.  so i am stuck up a creek without a paddle waiting for them to fulfill my order but i cannot use the money to purchase a different miner in the meantime

i tried bugging them on twitter also (@canaanio)  to no avail

just beware guys, there are alot of unscrupulous  merchants out there.  buyer beware!  i should have stuck with buying a used 721 off ebay or similar from a domestic seller!!!!

Canaan has lots of Avalons shipping and ready for shipping. I got my most recent 2x 741's last Friday 9 days after ordering it.

Seems par for the course with them that A) The initial Invoice was messed up. Again. That make 2 out of 3 orders. Same as before, The total sale + shipping amount was correct but product description.. That was corrected promptly. B) It takes a couple days for the email/ticket game of tag regarding payment by BTC vs using their default wire xfr process to finally get the BTC amount and address to sent to. After that all went fine.

re: the OP's issue
1- I assume you have a support ticket open with them? Always use that route as emails and the Ticket system do not seem to sync well. Stick to replying in the Ticket.

2- Always refer to and include the txn code for what you sent. It is your only way to prove what was sent from where and to what address. That *should* give an iron-clad case...

I paid weeks ago.  canaan already acknowledged receipt of my payment weeks ago.   The validity of My payment is not in dispute.

The problem is that my order has been sitting in "hold" and "processing" status for weeks now.   Scam?  Lazy?  Perhaps they are just Too busy with bigger customer orders?  No idea why.  I can only speculate.   

I repeatedly opened up support tickets with Canaan asking for an estimate of the ship date.  No firm reply, just vague explanation that they are swamped with business.  I asked for a refund, they ignored my request

So basically I am out 1.9 btc (maybe it is chump change for some folks but it represents a substantial investment for me).  With nothing to show for it

I could post screenshots of a All my interactions via email and twitter and website ticketing system if that would convince you I am telling the truth.  I am sure eventually it will come to this.  Me having to document everything and publish the truth so that others can avoid getting scammed the way I am being scammed

My point is that Canaan's claim online on their website of "Avalon 741, in stock now and ready to ship - air shipping via FedEx TODAY" is a total falsehood and a lie.

If they have record of payment and they acknowledge that, then no idea what's up. Shipping location/instruction issues? Your country's Customs or other import issues?

They have stock and folks are getting miners as-advertised. Check CKpool the miners are tested there and currently >2PH of miners being burned in. Fact is yours is the first complaint like this here so again, no idea whats up or what to tell ya.

I ordered two 741's and a controller and was amazed to receive the order 7 days after sending the wire. It took a couple days after placing the order, but after I sent verification of the wire things went pretty fast. They arrived last Friday.

I HAVEN’t received Anything!!

I would like my original order #47170 to be fulfilled as soon as possible.

the problem is it has been over a week since I made payment and have received very little communicstion from you regarding my order status.  and the original order still appears stuck in hold

Can you provide an estimate for when you will ship the order?

if you are unable to fulfill the order immediately I must ask for an immediate refund in order to redeploy this investment elsewhere

I cannot afford to lose this opportunity.

Can't find info about connecting Avalon 741 (controller) with wifi does below mean wifi is possible for few miners?

"By default there is a “No-WIFI mode” preset, which is the default requirement for large-scale mining deployments. 20 miners maximum is recommended for each RPi"

Unfortunately drivers and packages needed for wifi in Openwrt are not compatible with Canaan's custom Openwrt firmware.  
I also tried to have wifi in my controller. I tried installing packages in Canaan Openwrt via command terminal with no results. Then I also tried having original Openwrt with wifi packages and install Canaan packages on that, but that was a failure as well.

It shouldn't be that hard for Canaan though to add wifi packages to their version, since all needed are already available via Openwrt repositories.

hello guys

just wanted to update everyone on the status my Avalon 741s

finally Fedex delivered them yesterday, well i had to go to the local fedex distribution center because all the trucks were not making delivery runs because of the snow storm

took them back and hooked em up to Corsair 1200W atx power supplies

plugged in the controller and started mining.  they run pretty loud and hot so i just leave the porch door open and get some free winter cold air.

now they are mining about 7 th/s each on average.  combined with mY R4 i have about 21 th/s total mining pool strength

so the month long story with delays has a happy ending.  i will post pics and maybe an unboxing video later.  

now i just need to figure out how to underclock them so that the noise from the fans is more manageable and tolerable

and now i need to start thinking about ethereum mining lol 

oh one other thing to mention is i popped the surge protector and then 20 amp main circuit breaker a few times before i realized i could not operate 3x 1200w power supplies off a single wall outlet 

i plugged into a different outlet feeding from a different main household circuit breaker and everything was good

watch your outlets they use a lot of power.
