I modded the bios of Sapphire 280x Vapor-X 3GB Hynix and Sapphire HD7970 3GB Hynix , if someone needs them i can upload them.

The 280x is good on all straps, but the HD7970 is only good on 1300 memory , higher is getting errors in the miner .

280x on 1100\1375 mem is 83-85s , hd7970 on 1100\1300mem is 80s .

Im looking for a modded bios for my Sapphire HD7950 OC 3GB Elpida EDW2032BBBG Smiley

Those GPUs were highly requested, post them somewhere and ill put the link in the main topic.

By the way, the incorrect shares might not be the GPU but it might be the Riser not being able to keep up with the bandwidth.

Try putting that GPU inside a x16 slot and see what you get.

Have a Sapphire HD7970 Vapor-X GHz Edition(3GB, HYNIX AFR memory)
Stock bios was giving ~52sol/s (1050/1500)
Tried GIGABYTE 7970 with HYNIX AFR Memory, OS started but mining failed(0.0 sol/s)
After that flashed ASUS R9 280X with HYNIX AFR memory.
And now my GPU gives ~83-87sol/s, peaking at 96sol/s in Claymore's v4.0

Got a little excited seeing 90 sols on 280x, flashed gigabyte elpida to sapphire elpida, bricked the card. good thing there are 2 bios'es in this card. Restored the primary using the backup.

Anyone with sapphire elpida bios with improve hashrate? Im getting 65 at the most. Thanks.

Thanks very much adaseb.

Guys stop flashing the wrong firmware bios. Wait until someone with those cards mods the BIOS. Really surprising its actually hashing for you since its a completely different manufacteur even.

Either way its nice to see these old GPUs back in the game, they were almost forgotten with the RX series but are now killing 470s and 480s left and right.

I think your rate is faster than most because you have it inside a computer case correct? No risers?

It did. I flashed your asus 280x bios to my toxic. from 67sol/s to 82+ sol/s. Whoever wrote that checksum correction at overclock.net is a genius. Thats one way for bios from different firmware get accepted.

Alright I finally found a good ELPIDA timing strap. Use only 1500 Mhz. That Gigabyte 7970 finally gets 80 Sol/s using this, previously it was max 70 Sol/s

Put it inside your bios, I am too lazy to do any more Hex editing.

This has only 9 timings so make sure you include an extra dummy timing so the length of the file is the same.

CONFIRMED: If you are getting any incorrect shares, its not the BIOS its your riser. Your GPU is running too fast and the riser can't support the bandwidth.
Put it inside a slot or use a 16x to 16x riser or use another grade of 1x riser. SO far USB risers are getting more incorrect shares than old ribbon risers.

Its actually on the card that is inside the case and on to full slot, but the mobo is little old with amd chipset and the full slot is working only on 8x , the other card with the riser is ok. I will upload the bios now and give links.

Arghhhh, no idea how to do this... I've flashed bios before on these even, but never hex edited a bios file Huh
I have according to GPUz and the lookup function.
2 Sapphire HD 7950 Vapor-X OC Boost Elpida
Sapphire HD 7970 OC Boost w Hynix
2 Sapphire HD 7950 FleX OC Boost w Elipida
PowerColor PCS+ HD 7950 w Elipida
Sapphire HD 7950 Dual-X with Boost w Elipida
Then a Sapphire Vapor-X R9 280X OC with hynix
MSI HD 7970 OC w Hynix mem

Is there a tutorial somewhere.

Can someone help me to modify this BIOS?
https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B7DY4HtlGV7VY1IxQ2R1YXlTMFU

It's from MSI 7950 with Hynix MFR/AFR (shows both, depends on what identifier you use, Asus one shows MFR, Tahiti gddr5 shows AFR, and VBE7 shows both, lol).

Thanks!
