is these correct bat files for watchdog at windows I'm currently not using windows, but you could try creating a BAT file (watchdog.bat) with the following: shutdown -r -f -c "GPU card freeze" Then configure your start.bat to look something like: optiminer -s %POOL% -u %USER% -p %PASSWORD% -m 8080 --watchdog-timeout 30 --watchdog-cmd "watchdog.bat" I found these links for reference on shutting down a mswindows computer: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb491003.aspx

2 optiminer
Is it possible to make so, that under Windows the miner will look for OpenCL dlls in its own folder, instead of system only? sgminer/claymore's happily use opencl dlls when put in same folder, it seems your miner is using system-installed only

You can't. That feature does not exist in optiminer at this point. If you're on a decent pool, it shouldn't be that big of an issue, but I agree it's a nice "safety feature"

[1.6.2] Implement second pci mode (--pci-mode 1). No idea what it is. According to Optiminer (on the Zcash Mining forum), mode 0 is the same as v1.6.1, while mode 1 is the same as v1.5.0.

I only just starting using optiminer with v1.6.1... so how does choosing mode 0 or mode 1 differ in relationship between using RX4xx and everything else?

It's not a matter of which GPU model you are using, it's a matter of rig stability. Start with the default (0), but if your rig is not stable (reboot, restart), then try mode 1, which is the same as v1.5.0 (which had somewhat lower performance than v1.6).
