Set a winning target? What does that even mean? You know when you can actually win, lets say I have to win $25k this night? So basically you will never stop playing until you reach that amount of money, then that's just even worse. I mean you will gonna have to force yourself in to winning that amount, even if you can't. It is much worse than greed, because as I've said you are forcing yourself. So I would suggest that you will have to set limit to a certain number of games that you will be playing, that is more logical.

Or the set of money to be spent on the bet, it also makes more sense. When we for example will only spend 10% of our income money on bets then we have to stop after we spend 10% of our income money. I'm sure if we do well we will not be greedy and will not be addicted.

Set a winning target? What does that even mean? You know when you can actually win, lets say I have to win $25k this night? I don't think that it's worse because knowing the fact that you already hit the winning target, meaning you won't play anymore. Unless you lose and don't hit that, you should also have a limit on the losses. Because it would be hard for someone to keep on playing keeping in mind only about the target, not the losses and that he or she makes.

Maybe those gamblers who have bigger convictions on their targets that's why they kept on playing but not litteraly greed about gambling desires of winning in exact time. Limiting or controlling your losses might not be easy for every bets being made, and the only way to it is don't put every activity into a serious matter so that you will not become more aggressive for aiming bigger wins as well.

It's always an easy thing to say, and something that should work.. in theory. But if you truly set limits and then start gambling I guess you are already at a loss. To me it is more or less suicide with setting limits. If you are in fact gambling and if you are gambling enough to overcome stupidity and actually set proper limits you will find it extremely difficult to uphold these limits. All you can really do is put the trust in yourself that you'll follow them but then when you sit there, gambling, you'll think about other things.

Obviously it can depend on what games you are playing, as some games have small breaks in them where you can think about what you are actually doing. But if you are playing slots for example, time flies away, there are no breaks in between rounds and the money just flows.
