SO...and now what?

Seems like one of the hashingboard is gone - looks like only 12 of 72 chips are gone but the hashrate on pools shows exactly 3/4 of the original hashrate.

Anybody to repair this board?
Any other suggestions?

I would have said you run it until it breaks completely and get a new one from bit main but you overclocked it. Don't know if they repair it. At least its out of warranty now.

You might want to change the order of the boards. I was told that might help sometimes.

I will try to change the order but don't have much expectations...

Unfortunately I have more than my share of experience.

What happens if you power cycle the miner.  Does the board show the same status?

If the board has an issue there is some good news and some bad news.  Which do you want first? LOL

Also no changes after restart.
I had changed the frequency to  default but also no help.
This is going to be my test miner and I will I will try maximum freq till it burns.

Gosh this price drop in scrypt coins could not have come at a worst time for the buyers of the L3. Hopefully coin prices go up soon or there are going to be a lot of people dumping these on the market. There is already a bunch showing up on Ebay. I am praying things get better.

The people that dump their miners as soon as the market takes a dip are the ones that lose money. When people sell their miners the difficulty drops. When the difficulty drops it remains profitable to mine even with the lowered coin prices. Or if you truly believe in the currency, you hold onto what you mine to sell at a later date when the price rebounds, and take advantage of the lower difficulty.

I do have some unlucky Antminers here Smiley
This is another my L3+ - never overclocked. Does anybody know what does that mean?
The temperatures there are not right, minutes before this happens there is max 60°C

After restart all good for a while:

This might happen from time to time. Today I got a notification that one of my miners was offline. All chips were xxxxx

This can happen if you got a change in your voltage or if you move the miner/turn it over. The smallest movement might result in a shutdown

Anyone else getting spotty performance (shutdowns until unit cools) from APW3++ power supplies split between 2 L3+?

had a couple fail in temperatures that are well within operating spec of the unit.

As I wrote few minutes ago - my miners works weird and I had to restart them often. Now I made changes in electricity much better - invested thousands of dolars (cos of more miners I do have) and everything is good again.

Temperatures on my miners are around 60°C max - I do have a datacenter well cooled.

With this service you have it all covered

Your miners are stocked in our Datacenter.

Is Bitmain's Pool the fairest in town? Of course it's the simplest solution to get up and running essentially out-of-the box once you have a Bitmain account (which you obviously do) - but is the concensus that we are happy with their Pool? I'm looking around for any opinions. Also is Solo mining worthwhile in any predictable manner with only 3 miners?

Thank you L3+ thread!

Also now looking for some clarification on the "rejected" and "discarded" shares - which matters most? This brand new December shipped  unit has been running for an hour on Bitmain's pool, and already has 3 rejected and 1304 rejected shares. Any knowledge on what to do to correct this would be appreciated. Thanks again

Below is what I get now with an L3 at 400 watts at 250mh at 12c kwh electric.

$11.20 with electricity paid, per day.

24 hours   0.04009836 LTC   12.35 USD   1.15 USD   11.20 USD
7 days   0.28068853 LTC   86.45 USD   8.06 USD   78.39 USD
30 days   1.20295085 LTC   370.51 USD   34.56 USD   335.95 USD

Below is what I get now with a KNC Titan 300mh miner at 1,250 watts and 12c kwh electric.

$11.22 with electric per day.

24 hours   0.04811803 LTC   14.82 USD   3.60 USD   11.22 USD
7 days   0.33682624 LTC   103.74 USD   25.20 USD   78.54 USD
30 days   1.44354103 LTC   444.61 USD   108.00 USD   336.61 USD

LOL. What the Hell.

Of course the above means that an L3+ is getting $22.44 per day after electric at 12c kwh.

Who'd a thunk this, about 2 months ago?

Anyway, for your consideration. The calc used was from www.litecoinpool.org/calc

and does include the fact it is 101% payout free LTC pool.

I mine on Prohashing, until recently got more on PH so switched, but with LTC pump this may not

be the case anymore.

Anyway, was messing around with the litecoinpool calc, in that, I have both machines...and thought

this was funny.

These fuckers are also rock solid huh?  I don't worry much. Price is going to go up until Bitcoin will drop. And since everyone expects Bitcoin to hit 25k it will hit 25k...

NOTE: (off-topic on the EVIL of KNC 300mh Titan scrypt-pow miners (well-known fact...the Vatican is Investigating!) SKIP, if you are into PURE Bitmain EVIL only!
(I understand..Bitmain Evil is a full load of Evilness on itself, probably plenty!)

they are still 'evil as f*ck* and again, I have 2 yet in the basement, the rest in data hall, but anyway, you can't make direct eye contact...being evil and all, they

can sense fear and immediately will try to 'brick themselves' (I'm not kidding, on 4 occasions in last 3 years since I started getting them, the first was Nov 8th, 2014

they have fried a power plug, burn out,  in front of me in spite...( managed to fix them all) but I mean really,

seems too coincidental...they hate my ass...all that 24/7 in the hamster wheel, etc

Every 6 months now (with the Maxumark brackets replacing the big ass ugly heatsink and the 8 individual dc/dc heatsinks and the hi speed fan) you have to clean

and repaste...all but 4 have been done at least 2x most 3x....damn they get dirty...the airflow improvement knocked the heat down about 12c degrees

so some of the mods, with Gen Tarkin Titan firmware mods..catching dead fans etc and temp sensors have saved them cubes countless times...

The REAL way we have kept them going, (all but a 5 cube unit in basement still on 2 corsairs..burning out the occasional plug every 1/2 year or so)

Is we have mod'ed server PSU's with the proper surge protection and usual PSU guts ...in the server backplates...thus 2 platinum 1280 units back in the day

2,560 watts at 96% efficiency, dual mod'd as 1 unit with 5 leads..works slick...and better then a breakout attach to such server PSU's ..in that backplate
they slide into has all the regular PSU safeguards and surge protection etc...slick!

when cheap to get new (@ $300 bucks with backplate) and using 15 AWG wire mods from such as leads, making leads, to get around these issues,  thus NO Y adapters needed...(though they slowly "brown out" after a bit more than a year say...but you can watch for browning and catch and crimp replace if that is the case)

much more stable, much cooler, to the touch in the summer, etc

IF this keeps up ALL my units will have eventually burnt out the plastic plugs in the cubes of all my Titans (I mean they were supposed to last 90 days max according

to the KNC warranty and even that was changed from 30 days on a revolt of customers...real time figure 9 months max?)

So each time that happens, I do the scrape all the plastic off the leads, use a knc Y adapter (got a mess new for this purpose back in the day they were dumped on

eBay etc) put the 1 end in the cube direct and slide it on the pins..MAKING SURE THE TAB ON THE PSU CABLE IS UP LIKE IT IS ON THE PLUG (or bye, bye, cube)

Sorry, lightfoot...(repair's Titans) I know you hate this....I know of at least on all my Titans ....9 I'd say, we've done this w/o any issues....knock, wood

so yeah a LOT of these titans are only working from Litghtfoot fixes (8 or so cubes......I love the 1 BTC I sent him Dec or so of 2016 for fixes...groan!)

the Gen Tarkin software the checks for fans being off, too much temp and other cool features...the extensive cube bracket dc/dc heatsink and hi-speed fan mods

NEW...toss out the KNC ones, yech, repaste every 6 months ago (mainly needs cleaning also they get dirty, q-tip and alcohol) etc

True evil Titan needs to have minion's like me to bend to their every whim...but hey....last month it was 5 bucks a day  or some such a Titan ..now it is like $15 bucks a Titan

a day,  yet another price save vs difficulty to save the Titans for yet a few more months! Evil Triumphs!

I swear it is downright Lord of the Rings ...Sauron! Mordor!

It all makes sense now....me below Sad

I just received my two L3+'s from Bitmain and the first thing I noticed that on both units the last board are loose. I can move them with my fingers. Is this normal. If this not normal how do I fix this?

Thanks!!!!
