I see Bitcoin reaching the volume of PayPal, but I don't see it overcoming PayPal. Entirely based on PayPal's buyer and seller protections. Unless a company steps in as a middle man to offer similar protections I don't see Bitcoin overcoming PayPal.

I think that paypal will soon implement in their software to have a capability of holding bitcoins since earning bitcoins today is very popular in different wallet and if paypal will implement that function then i think it will be a huge advantage for everyone because it will be more secured.

I voted no

Paypal is a payment system not a currency they are 2 totaly different things, and besides that  Bitcoin has way to many problems doing transactions as it is and the fees are stupidly high.

i dont think so. There are still so many people don't know about bitcoin, in the other hand, many people know what paypal is.

That's certainly true. It's quite rather disappointing that many people are still unaware of Bitcoin or don't even know how to use it. Since Bitcoin requires a level of knowledge in the tech area to use it, this limits people who're non-tech savvy to get started with it right away. On the other hand, PayPal is easier to use than Bitcoin and there's no such thing as slow transactions, and extremely high fees.

Nevertheless, it is only a matter of time before Bitcoin improves enough for use in the mainstream world. The ever-rising demand, and upcoming improvements, are just signs that the cryptocurrency will become a stronger payments system in the future. Once it becomes capable of handling micro-transactions, then it will be one step closer to overcoming PayPal. Just my thoughts Grin

once adopted by the governments and is accepted worldwide, then Bitcoin will not only overcome but also replace pay pal, as long as none of the Bitcoin policies are replaced or modified. especially the safety and privacy policies. PayPal isn't a bad platform , just that Bitcoin will come ,with another level of efficiency and speed.
Although there are many cryptocurrencies can provide better service to transfer money.
But the fact, the number of users using Paypal did not decrease too much.
Just panic user and new user give up this service.
In my opinion, Bitcoin can overcome paypal only if all online sites starts accepting Bitcoin as a mode of payment. Bitcoin provides less fees,
and more advantages to merchants than using PayPal, So they would eventually shift towards the decentralized cryptocurrency.

Do you think that sometime in the future, Bitcoin might overcome Paypal, as it scales in capacity and userbase over the years?

We already have the ability to create our own marketplace with OpenBazaar, that uses Bitcoin as its payment method, so it should be no surprise that the combination of these two may be a fierce competition for both eBay and Paypal.

Nevertheless, feel free to vote on the poll above and express your opinion about it, if desired.  Grin
i personally think bitcoin will overcome Paypal, less fee to pay and no chargeback. Paypal already a well established company but there's a lot of issues and they are not even bother to solve these problems. they will decline and will be gone in 10-20 years

Bitcoin should not be compared connected to Paypal. Bitcoin can be the king of all coins, but there is no competition subsequent to PayPal. The paypal has been in the center at the forefront many days, for that defense everyone knows nearly Paypal, but Bitaken has not yet add details to to all. So Bitcoin's idea is not in everyone. So we have to get occurring for that Bitcoin's ideas can cause problems on together surrounded by everyone.

I have vote yes, and I am thinking that bitcoin has already proven it's worth to the world that it is worthy of their trust and if the collaboration of Bitcoin and Paypal would truly become a reality then I think it will stand still and might be a threat with ebay and some sites that are using paypal on their direct transaction, but i think some competitors are trying to manipulate the matter in stopping the progress of bitcoin.

I think not necessarily bitcoin, but crypto, will be our new financial system and so yes, it will also replace paypal. More importantly though, it will replace banks and major financial institutions.

The main function of bitcoin is crypto currency used as an online payment tool. Bitcoin has its own currency symbol, the BTC. As virtual money, bitcoin has a fairly expensive exchange rate.

There is nothing to make a comparison between bitcoin and PayPal. Both differ in it legalities and the method of using. Co-founder of PayPal indicated that PayPal is payment support that made an change in the payment system. Bitcoin as a payment gateway has also grown to get used as a currency. This clearly shows the potential of bitcoin.

Even Paypal is one of the biggest transfering system in this world , it still has various disadvantages which isn't good for users.
But personally , i think Bitcoin can solve all of those limits and that's the reason i think Bitcoin absolutely can overcome Paypal in the nearly future.

For now it seems paypal is still the primary choice of internet payment, but I'm sure someday or at least 3 years from now bitcoin will be overcome paypal. the main thing that makes paypal still strong is because it is supported by many banks and credit cards.

Bitcoin technology make it possible to do this, and I think that the replacement of PayPal can happen in the near future.

Yes, bitcoin will overcome PayPal with time.  More people are getting informed about bitcoin,  the benefits of transactions using bitcoin outweighed that paypal. In bitcoin verification process is less stressful unlike PayPal and Bitcoin already has a wider adoption.

When more people become aware that bitcoin can be sent as remittance cheaper and easier than can be done with paypal, then yes, bitcoin will overcome paypal. The thing is, though is that paypal is a company and as a company it can consciously make an effort to advertise and promote its services. Bitcoin on the other hand isn't a company and can't consciously decide for itself to go out and market and promote itself as a remittance option for payment, services or whatever.
