Bitcoin is a cryptocurrency, a digital decentralized payment system working without any central repository or single administrator. All transactions in this are through cryptocurrencies  and unspent amounts are counted in Satoshis. While paypal is an online payment system to facilitate transactions in US$ only. One must have a credit card to use Paypal, while it’s not applicable in Bitcoin case.

Bitcoin has lower fees than Paypal. Paypal is not available in every country, but Bitcoin is border-agnostic like the Internet.

In my view, Paypal and Bitcoin have no comparison and hence, no question to overcome each other at least in the current scenario.

Not sure where this is coming from but bitcoin has already overthrown paypal by market cap. Many many times. Now it's time to am for bigger challenges like currencies etc.
A 100 billion marketcap is huge but yet the beginning because adoption is yet to come.

I'm sure that once bitcoin immediately overcome paypal, this is because bitcoin market share is getting stronger Cheesy
Do you think that sometime in the future, Bitcoin might overcome Paypal, as it scales in capacity and userbase over the years?

We already have the ability to create our own marketplace with OpenBazaar, that uses Bitcoin as its payment method, so it should be no surprise that the combination of these two may be a fierce competition for both eBay and Paypal.

Nevertheless, feel free to vote on the poll above and express your opinion about it, if desired.  Grin

these are two different things, can't really compare, but paypal accepting cryptos as payments method... that would be nice, still the volatility of the market will prevent that from happening in the near future...

With the increased price bitcoin has gone beyond PayPal in terms of market capital. In terms of growth too it has reached almost big through different accessibilities available. PayPal as an payment processor has gained good reputation and this will let the community grow as majority of the business people use PayPal for cross border transactions.

I voted yes in the poll, however more than Bitcoin replacing Paypal I believe that Paypal will end up introducing Bitcoin has a CURRENCY, just like Payza, Payeer or others are doing.

About the payment method for business, if you want to create a transparent service, you should to use Paypal instead of Bitcoin because the Paypal function can help you avoid the scammer (need to use verified account when create a big deal).
Beside that, Bitcoin is a currency for anonymous transactions, I do not think the large business want to use an anonymous currency for their services and get troubles from the government.

Instead of wait Ebay accept the cryptocurrency, I think wait the best services seller online is Amazon will be better. To be honest, I like to using Amazon to order from other countries than Ebay, because Amazon services can guarantee the product I bought better than Ebay

I do not believe that Ebay will actually use some block-chain other than for marketing . Which could mean something like PayPal allowing to change bitcoin to fiat and than paying with high commissions.
Overall I like Amazon more they are more dedicated and more innovating company. But in my mind they have so many problems, it is incredible. The shipping time ( as a seller) cant be changed to real one, they have some kind of crazy algorithm. This is just one example. Do not want to go off-topic too much.

Anyway I can see Amazon in coming years doing something with block chain. I think the stability of crypto is not a argument since you can buy and sell at current price.

As per my knowledge, no it can't be. PayPal is an organisation that holds on to your money until your product is delivered and you are satisfied with it. Crypto currency is something you own and transfer to the receipient when you want to, it's immediate payment and cannot be reversed unless theres some middleman escrowing your coins.

maybe someday bitcoin will overcome paypal, because bitcoin is more flexible than paypal, you can create and address that you want anywhere and anytime. you can created wallet without verifying process like paypal. you need an internet access and private key to make transaction bitcoin, without email, password

Not everyone wants to use Bitcoin for business. The fact, the government manage the econony and activity of business. It means the government also track the activiti of them and know which method they use for payment. Of course, almost the government do not accept Bitcoin as a payment method, so, they will break the law if use Bitcoin.

This can only happen if the state begins to actively support bitcoin and implement it in all sectors. Without state support, he can not overcome paypal.

Bitcoin reputation has some what being modeled to PayPal excluding its anonymity and eliminating the use of credit / debit cards. As the years gone by, bitcoin popularity continue to increase whereas PayPal keeps declining. In fact, there is a site where PayPal users can share their most horrific stories w/ the mentioned platform.

Given what I have mentioned above, those might be the facctor that might probably overcome PayPal by bitcoin.

I, myself has some horror stories with PayPal which gives me nightmares over the years. I have already lost $5,000 with the mentioned site, all of the payments that I have received came from legal / freelance jobs, and I do not intend to use it ever again.

For now it seems paypal is still the primary choice of internet payment, but I'm sure someday or at least 3 years from now bitcoin will be overcome paypal. the main thing that makes paypal still strong is because it is supported by many banks and credit cards.
Yes the paypal is the best way of the payment but the bitcoin price is getting more and more wide and this is the time to buy the bitcoin and to have the future with the bitcoin at the same value and the price I hope the future will give the best at the price and the value and it will increase because the paypal is the best source of the payment at the bitcoin price and the value.

I think no and indeed, Paypal is a really well-known for most of the people and practically all stores settle for payments from paypal even payment from buying bitcoins. You can link your paypal account to your Credit history Card but in bitcoin wallet, there are only some wallets that has these function. Paypal use actual cash and some users of bitcoin, even now convert their bitcoins into genuine money.

of course, not even just Paypal, maybe many others will also use bitcoin as a means of payment.
