Bitcoin won't  drop as low as $600 (even after failed split chain fork) so you might be forever stuck with your altcoins.
And the best way to earn money during scaling problems is to actually has access to your BTC and act accordingly.

it is just the campaign of desperate ethereum bag holders trying to get their money out with a profit ever since eth was dumped a little. otherwise normal people don't "sell bitcoin" to get into altcoins, you go ahead and buy that altcoin with bitcoin without paying an extra fee in the middle. and the person who you quoted is stupid enough not to know this because evidently he has never traded in his life.

What alt coin did you invested? Though it is being done by many traders, I don't want to take the risk, I will keep on waiting before selling.

However I would buy it again maybe at a price range of $ 600.

It is not going to happen anymore, it can go back to $900 but I guess it will never come back to $600 as we can see the price right now.

I can say wait!  Hold your bitcoin for 5 years and you will see a significant increase in price of Bitcoin. I am confident that bitcoin will increase in price for a long time.  Selling it at the current dip is a very wrong move.  You can have more price value if you learn how to wait patiently.

Patience is necessary and do not only limit yourself with long term investment alone, there are money when the dump and pump show happen
and honesty it's my favorite situation in bitcoin. Also, when bitcoin will pump, I do buy some ETH because the value is low and now that bitcoin
is not rising ETH is now getting a good price because traders transfer their bitcoins to trade ETH. But I have to respect whatever your method because
it's your money and you have the freedom to do anything you want, all I can say is my opinion based on my experience as a trader.

You are just one of those that when Bitcoin goes up in value, you cheer for Bitcoin, and when altcoins go up in value, you cheer for altcoins. But if you want to jump into overbought altcoins, then sure, you're free to do so, but don't cry when things don't go to plan.

It's just a matter of time. Look at how money from altcoins will find its way back to Bitcoin at the time there has been a solution to finally end all scaling debates. People hedge Bitcoin just because of the uncertainties, and that's it. But we all know that it won't be an easy thing to find a viable solution that all parties are somewhat happy with. It's not for nothing that the scaling debates have been up for a few years non stop now.

Yeah as quoted bitcoin price is expected to move forward rather than going down. Possibly the guy who has​ been planning to make profit through altcoins will realize when the price increase happens even more than the present. Also now with bitcoin the price volatility decreases at some point​which is hard to happen with altcoins.

we see what happens to altcoins in the long term every day and yet people don't listen. we again saw a small view of what can happen to them yesterday when price of bitcoin went above $1100 for a couple of hours and all the altcoins tanked.
what people forget is that altcoins are pumped and will always be pump and dump coin and all those involved with that market are waiting for a reason to mass dump and get out.

I do not know about the altcoin that what will happen to them and what will happen with their price drop but it is sure that people are investing in bitcoin and are starting their businesses with bitcoin and are transacting their money in bitcoin internationally so the price of it is already increasing.

you are right that holding is very much profitable for now because bitcoin price rising again and who hold their bitcoin they will be get a good profit from bitcoin in the few year.

Holding bitcoins is always an rich choice to make as price will keep on increasing in coming years so we should try to collect as many coins as possible at this stage and hold it for future and if you want to multiply them quick then you can invest some of them in altcoins.
