I hope that this is impossible to achieve, but if it can be done, it will be one of the contradictions of nature and it will not end well

I don't think it is possible, but than again, if you showed someone from 1940s an iphone, they would probaby think you're crazy.

Even if immortality exists, think about the world's population. Now we are comfortable, because deaths and births are counting almost same.

We don't know for sure how technology will progress, so who knows, right? It's interesting though that there's so much talk about this possibility for immortality. If there's smoke, there's fire. There's even a subreddit devoted to a project exploring digital immortality. https://www.reddit.com/r/virternity/It talks about the studies and plans for a virtual future. There's some interesting discussions there.

I don't believe that some people can live forever. If you said in the future, people's life can be extended to a few hundred years old, i believe it.

Immortality is an abstract concept. Humans will never be immortal, not only because of the neurons cells' incapacity to regenerate, but simply because even the universe will end someday. Absolutely nothing is immortal, not even the universe, that is expanding and cooling down until the last star will die and with it any kind of life. But this is the only way, death is necessary for life, as dark for light. Humans can only leave after their death in the memories of the living, the greater their impact on humanity, the longer their "after life" will last. but still is not immortality, do you think in 1 million years people will still know who Leonardo Da Vinci or Hitler was?

Actually, immortality isn’t an entirely abstract concept anymore, as there are tons of studies now looking into the exploration of technology in order to make it a reality. In particular, there is a growing enthusiasm being shown for digital immortality –that is, uploading human consciousness into a virtual simulation. Have you encountered the topic online?

I don't believe this concept. For me, death is the end and it's the final stage of being a human. I just have to accept that I'll die

What do you think about immortality? Will people find immortality in the future? Is it possible to transfer a digital copy of the brain to a computer environment?
Hmmm immortality in my mind is that you live and can not die. But just copying your brain to an computer or make a copies of you and upload your data... is that really an immortality!? People would have never figure out how to sustain life for one to live forever. Thay can copy brain and make a computer to talk like yiu and think like you and all but its imposible to prolong your life so much that you would never die. When we get old our body is braking down and it would need a constant fix. Not possible.

There are plenty of projects working on "digital immortality"- Creating virtual worlds where people can be uploaded once this is possible (allegedly within the next 30 years.)
I don't think it could be technically considered immortality though. "Forever" is a long time. The hardware that would make this possible would still be subject to the heat death of the universe.

Immortality would be great if it applies to all, but if it apploes to you or few people it is like a curse. You will live but the people you know will leave you.

I have lots of questions about it myself, but I try to keep an open mind about it, especially since technology is never predictable. Most of the gadgets and apps that we have now, I couldn’t have predicted will become a reality today. So who knows? Computers might be powerful enough to store human memory or it might find a way to preserve the earth. Only time will tell. But for now, I think the current studies and research being done are feasible enough to pave the way for this digital future. Here's a brief blog post about it: https://goddessathena051.wixsite.com/website/blog/do-you-want-to-live-foreverWhat do you think?

With the technology development, the human will found of the given method that immortality. But I think think the immortality will do the people not be happy it and wrong with the natural law.

Immortality is an impossible thing. Every human being has birth and death, immortality is completely unreasonable.

I think that immortality has already been invented. They hide it from us. But I would not want to be immortal.
