Innovating new algorithm, namely Ubhash, is great. The UBIQ team has created a new algorithm for crypto mining industry. I wish all the best to the new algorithm, hope it will have big ecosystem months later.

The grue lurks in the darkest places of the earth. Its favorite diet is adventurers, but its insatiable appetite is tempered by its fear of light. No grue has ever been seen by the light of day, and few have survived its fearsome jaws to tell the tale.

jyapToday at 11:23 PM @here Ubqhash and Ubqminer Testnet is now ready for public testing https://github.com/ubiq/ubqminer-testnet/releasesPlease discuss and report any issues in #ubiq-miners. We'd like to have some reports on what OS/GPU combination you're using. Please ask any 3rd parties to get involved as well (point them to the Introducing Ubqhash post) and to Ubiq Discord. NOTE: Testnet is set to faster 5 second block times. There's no need to test your equipment for an extended amount of time.(edited) GitHub ubiq/ubqminer-testnet Ubqminer Testnet. @here Progress update on the PoW hard fork
Public Testnet is going well and not coming up with any major issues which we didn't expect to have since a lot of testing was done beforehand.
The "Announcing the UIP1 hard fork" post is being drafted up. The next steps are to start finalizing the various code packages and making them public. Expect the post to come out next week where the hard fork block will be formally announced.
There will be a FAQ section so please assist by posting questions to the #ubiq-miners channel with the prefix "UIP1Q: " that you have or think should be covered in the FAQ section. For example: UIP1Q: What happens to my coins on an exchange?
We are at block 621,483 as I write this. Next epoch is block 630k. Around 1080 blocks a day so less than 8 days away. Too soon for the hard fork. We are targeting the subsequent epoch block 660k for the hard fork. So a bit over a month away. This will VERY LIKELY be the block announced for the hard fork when the blog post comes out.

@here Progress update on the PoW hard fork
A few of the UIP 1 Mainnet hard fork repositories are now live with changes. You can find them in #ubiq-developers so this is only for more people who want to get a head start on running a Gubiq 2.0 node, upgrading their pool or just want to check out the code changes.
Still need to make the Ubqminer Mainnet clean repo and publish the blog post. Soon™

Ubiq: Providing Smart Contracts for an Automated WorldWhile navigating through the sometimes-confusing world of cryptocurrency, it can be often a difficult task to figure out the true nuanced differences between coins in the cryptoverse. However, when it comes to Ubiq, the explanation is rather very simple. It is a coin based off the Ethereum blockchain but with more enterprise apps. Basically, it is the Ethereum coin, but with only the most stable and secure elements of the blockchain. https://blockpublisher.com/ubiq-providing-smart-contracts-for-an-automated-world/

jyapToday at 1:55 AM @everyone Gubiq v2.0.1 Thanks to everyone who upgraded early to Gubiq v2.0.0. Unfortunately there was an issue which didn't come up before and some premature optimizations (not related to Ubqhash code) have now been removed. Please make sure you upgrade to v2.0.1. Version 2.0.0 has since been removed. Please upgrade to Gubiq v2.0.1. You will need to have this version running for the hard fork regardless: https://github.com/ubiq/go-ubiq/releases/tag/v2.0.1

headrushToday at 6:39 AM Announcing ubq-control - A bash script to simplify the use of ubqminer on ethOS 1.3.3 This script has been tested on ethOS 1.3.3 and 1.3.2 and so I have discovered that ubqminer will not run on ethos 1.3.2 at all. The script will fetch ubqminer from the Ubiq github, verify its checksum and copy all files into the relevant places. There are various options the script will accept including || install || ubiq || ethash || remove || status || The README file is available from http://www.headru.sh/files/README.txtAll options and the install procedure are outlined in the README. I hope this will keep ethOS users mining Ubiq at least until the ethOS devs add ubqminer themselves. Keep on hashing ! I should add that the script merely manages the swap between ethminer and ubqminer. You must continue to use local or remote conf for your settings as usual. If globalminer is set to ethminer, leave it that way for ubqminer, as part of the scripts function is to back up ethminer, then rename ubqminer to ethminer. It a drop in replacement. All your normal settings will apply.
