We've been working on a cryptocurrency called Doubloon approaching two years in October. We have technical whitepapers we'll be publishing under the name Doubloon and wanted to avoid any confusion. The doubloon project https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=206361.msg2158711#msg2158711

So they're requesting we change the name from doubloons to something else.  Ticker would still be BOAT; that's really all that matters.  Out of respect, I agreed to come up with a new name as they were here first.

Well indeed like someone said in here, Doubloon is a bit complicated name.
I have few suggestions bout the name:

- Galleon's Gold [BOAT]
- Golden Ship [BOAT]
- Galleons [BOAT] or
- Galion [BOAT] (from franch).

The internet is full of dead cryptocoins, it's a list of dozens.

And because they  restared a deadcoin they expect a namechange from another coin with almost the same name, that's interesting.

Nice try I would say... Perhaps don't let a coin bleed to death next time.

Doubloon (BOAT) is the name of this project and it should stay like this.

This cryptocoin will boost before theirs is alive yet.

I must say that I am so happy to see Boat where it is now. I remember coming in this thread a few months ago and it looked dead until I started to post in here letting people know how good this coin really is. I am yet to sell any of my Boat as I believe in this project and that it will be a lot bigger in the near future. A long term hold just like RAIN.

Trying to update this coin on my server I have 8 connections but the block stops at 9999    and just sits there. Ive tried deleting the conf folder and restarting the coin but same it just stops at 9999.

Ant thoughts?

Hm, wasn't just me then.  I updated checkpoints and sync-checkpoints, my additions started at block 10,000.  Not sure what's up yet, but I've updated the code and reverted back.  Pushing out a working client right now.

The problem here is not what is better for me or for you or for the dev but the problem is what is the best attractive name for investors all around the world...
And in the fast-moving world of today the better things are short and simple. For this reason Antshares(ANS) has become NEO(NEO).
Anyway, dev will do what he wants ...
