PS: I've sent out the PM's around 7 hours ago. I have a few confirmations in with various timelines, hopefully this gets done before this Friday. This is starting to make me feel like the organizer now.  Undecided

Where's the OP?  I'd feel better if he were answering these questions.  The last I head is that he said something about being a part of a group of engineers that have big asic plans.  I'd like to know more about those plans, (as may of us here will need that kind of expertise.  Myself included).  Are any of them in the bitcointalk community?  Just hearing from them here would go miles towards building trust here.  John is only responsible for the coins.  Ragingazn has ultimate responsibility for the chips.  And, yes I do agree with these terms.

I'm in for 20 coins.  Raging has said he will post his coins (about 40) in a few days.

JohnK and I are taking turns pretty much lol - I am up when he goes to sleep and he's up when I'm still asleep.

Yes I've been talking to local engineers to start up a project. Everyone's excited about this. Nothing is set in stone yet but I will let you know once the team is put together and our website is up etc. But the plan is that by the time the chips start shipping we would be able to offer a service to build ASIC machines using your chips that you ordered. You obviously would have to pay for the extra parts (PCB / PSU etc.) and labor. But that's all in the future for now. I am just planning ahead while we wait!

I guess the major goal with this would be to match BFL's prices or lower after additional parts and construction.

Yes, and the fact that this should deliver faster than a recently ordered BFL.

I'm sorry I'm late, something came in my way.
Anyway, can I change my order from 26 to 20 chips?

I'd say you can, but I have zero authority over this.

The minutes count here guys, as we are entering a queue with other buyers.  JohnK are we missing any major contributors that are being accounted for in your finalized values?

I'm in for for ~6 BTC, just trying to finish up some reading and calculations (just found this thread last night)...

apologies if this was answered recently, but say we order within a few days, what is the earliest we'd see shipment?

The sooner we order the sooner we get the chips. So I would suggest you hurry up as we are already going to be behind a number of batch orders.

~10 weeks from order time.

So if we don't get about 270 more BTC contributed before May 1, does everyone just get a refund of their BTC?

When do you plan to put your money in?  It's a little harder to be positive about this taking off when the leader isn't even in yet.

We aren't in danger of this, there is a large number of BTC confirmed by people who have been providing adequate communication.

I am mostly concerned about ensuring that we get in the line fast so that we hit the first set and don't get held up by limited bandwidth from TSMC or Avalon.

Trust me, there will not be a bandwidth issue from TSMC. Half a million chips is insignificant compared to their total volume.

Avalon is just shipping them, so that shouldn't be a problem either.

The real risk is that Avalon is going to put in the whole order on the 1st and then there will probably be a long wait period. So we need to be in before that.

Oh, ok.  Can one still join in even if they didn't sign up previously?  Is is a matter of who sends the coins in first at this point?

It doesn't matter, the important thing is that we get anyone who wants in fast. Those who haven't paid are being bumped by those who send their portion.
