Whata f**k is going on with Feathercoin network hashrate and difficulty???
https://i.imgur.com/S3wFQ6W.jpg

Wow that looks ridiculous.

Take this with a grain of salt. I hear that the ICO ban and Exchange closure rumours have been used as a bit of a price manipulation tool. The ICO ban appears to be legitimate but the Chinese exchange closures appear to be rumour only.

Bter and Bittrex market prices show a huge discrepancy to reflect investor confidence.

But as I was saying, the exchange closures could be rumour only to manipulate prices while those in the know buy in. I would not be surprised that while all that is happening, miners are getting in(also as investors) while those with weak hands make an exit. This is one explanation for the graph and current market landscape.... And that's my theory only.

Don't take what I say as truth...Do your own research. I just like to speculate.

Network hashrate jumped X10 times! WTF??? And all this hashrate are sitting on private pool/solo mining.
Hashrate of largest feathercoin pool is 150Mh now. And 14+ GH sitting on private pools? BS.
Is it shitty botnet? Now fethercoin mining gives negative profit.

Hahah, you're welcome to your own opinion.

Like I said, its a theory.  An increase in difficulty normally is the result of an increase in miners but may be attributed to other factors. Anyone who is trading on fundamental analysis would also have to consider what all the given information means.

Anyways I understand your sarcasm and lack of respect due to the status of my account and for the fact that I'm making wild theories. No offence taken, for it is just a wild theory.

Maybe, or neoscrypt has been ASIC cracked or a big commercial farm/entity is backing FTC now or it is an error or something else!

Exciting times ahead for Feathercoin!

This could have been a Big Farm just testing out their rigs and setup.

Could have been some kind of switching pool.

Considering how short lived this was, I want to say it was some kind of test or benchmark.

I haven't done the math but mining profits wouldnt have been anything to write home about... ;-)

This is BS!
With difficultuly about 500 there ZERO/negative profit on feathercoin.
Seems, that this was attack based on new bug in newly updated neoscrypt blockchain!

You do not understand concept of mining obviously. Lots of big farms mined and are mining coins in negative profit. So the thing is that you are collecting then selling.

And it is not bug it is testing bch Wink

Uhmmm I'm an active member of the forms.

There was an update to the neoscrypt source from Ghostlander and this was implemented in one of our development branches...none of that code is live.

I mined BTC and LTC for negative profit....i'm not sorry now. :-)

Not for very long. There were 4 such "tests" over the course of a day if you look up wrapper's initial analysis of it on the main forum.

Diff is slower to come down than it is to go up, and from a shock like that it had a longer way to drop, but it did, and was back to "normal" levels pretty quickly. What it will do is throw people off mining FTC based on whattomine's long-term average profitability sorting.  Roll Eyes

Classic Whale FUD.

There have been no recent updates, so your analysis "bug in the newly updated neoscrypt blockchain!" is senseless. You're trying to make it seem like unreleased developments can effect the mining difficulty  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

FTC is definitely in an accumulation cycle at the moment, so bad news like this serves to shake out the weak hands. Fortunately, there's nothing to see here.

I've updated the v0.8 branch to the production status again. Pools and exchanges should stay on v0.9 for now, but v0.8 is just fine for personal use. It syncs faster than v0.9 at the very least.
