I doubt you'll find one.  Pretty much for the same reason that people believing that Earth is flat tend to flock together to offer cogent arguments (to each other) and promote their beliefs, while spheroid Earthers?  Not so much.

I'd say it's more herd mentality than anything. It's easier to agree with the majority, because there are more people to back you up, and less people to insult you. That's why people tend to migrate to forums where their opinion is in the majority: it takes a lot of balls to buck trend.

Add in the fact that for this forum in particular, you've got a lot of people with a lot of money invested, and it's easy to see why it's so polarizing.

Pretty much agree with what you say, even though at this point I have to wonder what the majority opinion in this thread actually is

That's an easy one to understand. You see bitcoin is a very high risk investment, but likewise the returns could also be high.
Some people don't want to take that risk, but at the same time don't want to miss out on an opportunity. So what do they do? Easy, they hope and attempt to make it fail. That way they didn't stomach any risk, didn't lose out on any gains, and can say "I told you so".

Are some of them trolls? Probably. Are all of them? Not necessarily. I have a strict definition of troll, though, and I will never consider someone presenting their argument in a relatively polite manner to be one. I will always take into consideration the general level of tension in the forum. Basically, if insults are already flying around left and right, it would take a whole lot for me to consider someone a troll. This forum is fairly intense for one that does not advertise itself to be as such. Unlike, for example, 4chan, where you walk in expecting everyone to be an asshole, or a comedy website, where you get a lot of jokers who try too hard and synonymize shallow insults with humor.

That's not to say intense is bad: it just is.

Regardless, I don't think anybody posting here hates bitcoin (except maybe Stolfi, but he still doesn't fall under my definition of troll). The vast majority just disagree on where the price is going to move.

According to this thread, it's mixed, but a lot of that is fear. If bitcoin were stable for 3 months, I'd say most would argue it was bound to go up.

give it time, if new blood is going to join they always do it late. I started re thinking after seeing the 80 dollar sr dip, saw it 100 and finally bought by 140. Time is important, probably less lag than last year where my exchange was backlogged until Dec verifying accounts.

not really everyone, however what I think you mean to say you believe the majority of people buying coins weren't cultists catching knives, and are going to succumb to selling and buying back when the dumps re-occur?  I bought at 450 and 420 cad, avg in was 540 cad before hand, and I really think I'll buy again before it can get above 400 cad, I don't sell cause I feel I'd fuck up the timings and it may be a poor reason but its the truth. I don't mind giving my money as support to the bitcoin price discovery phase, ultimately I believe it will help us reform financial systems if I have to lose some value so be it. I just don't see that being true in the long run.
