Am I the only one sceptic here about the pump that accompanied (?) the ITBIT / GBTC news? I expected a lot more buying regarding this.  Undecided

Even if you use Bitcoin through Tor, the way transactions are handled by the network makes anonymity difficult to achieve. Do not expect your transactions to be anonymous unless you really know what you're doing.

If there is to be a pump, let it be on the new platforms. China don't care about any of this.

Trading has been very low volume for most of this week. Nevertheless, I also expected a bigger pump accompanying ITBIT / GBTC news. Bitcoin sometimes does that though, and nothing much happens for weeks.

I don't think it has anything to do with China or any other country, whatsoever. Arbitrage would've been taken place in a jiffy if the buying pressure was high, no matter where this would've occurred. The mystery here is the low volume transactions slow paced pumps n dumps and stagnant markets. I do see the order books, but I expected A LOT more because of this move.

Maybe I was just wrong I guess...  Undecided

@HI-TEC99: Maybe it's not the time yet and you've got it right. Patience is a virtue Smiley

I expected more especially from GBTC going live.
Makes you wonder what needs to happen to start another rally.

Legal documents and 'official' certificates now look like some kind of hokey toys or historical artifacts lacking relevance in the e-world, hard to take them seriously after seeing how much BS backs up the broken legal/political system behind them versus a digitally-signed notarised hashed-into-blockchain permanence.

I looked with a glance and thought aaah, gold colored paper with an relief impressed onto it, (mmmm, the hollow remnants of a time when gold was gold, now superseded by cryptographic signatures) I don't feel reassured that A they wont do something wrong, and B the government won't revoke the privileges.

as speculators we've done our part.

No matter when you bought in, what your avg position is, this is no longer in our control. We pushed this commodity into the spotlight, gave it value, and now it's time for the big guns to take over. The 2-8 million of us in the world have given it 3 billion of value.

Without us, they dont have business opportunities to change the world.

Now it's up to them to do what they do--- business and generating economy-- to take us to the moon.

Guys, it's over for us, and the slow value decline/ lack of big pumps over the last 6 months are those signals, weak hands out, boat is filled up and we've set sail. This thing now trades like every other commodity or equity the market, up +/- 5% daily 99.9% of the time. The times of +/-15% daily is over.

Let the big kids move in and take it wherever it goes.

Doesn't even have that fancy anti-counterfeit measures that modern government documents tend to have. Looks like someone knocked it out on their HP inkjet.

We need real exchanges. Regulated! Not those jokes like finex or okcoin who are manipulated as f*.

Bitstamp is slowly coming back... but it will take some time. Coinbase will never be a market leader.

What do you mean by "regulated"? Smiley

We need good and secure exchanges, but how you want to regulate any of them? Smiley

Itbit is here now and about as regulated as anything will ever be. It's going to be very interesting to see what the take up will be like.

Insured deposits and legal comebacks if they decide to do a runner? If that's what a regulated exchange is then I'm all for it.

Ain't nothing wrong with dreaming. When things are this hopeless, what else is there?
Somehow newbies are always eager to write such statements. Almost every single "bitcoin is dead" post on this forum comes from a new account.

The chances of it being a newbie are slim in the extreme. It's the same old psycho dullard droning away. It is such a dead cert I pretty much auto ignore any newbie in this section without bothering to read. Sorry real newbies.

Most of them are duplicate accounts (sock puppets) of the same 3 or 4 posters although it's mainly just 1 poster who is now banned 'NotLambChop'.
I think they get paid by big investors to spread FUD & tales of bitcoin being dead to try & keep the price down so the big investor can load up on cheap coins.

There's a big list of people to ignore, ask macsga for it.

It's gone far beyond FUD into nothing but intense irritation. I don't think a big investor is going to be paying for the utter junk that it posts. They'd want something more subtle and persuasive.

They are all from the same person. A banned troll who is so attention starved they have to use newbie accounts to get air time.

Just click ignore and move along. They will be deleted by the mods anyway. Oh and don't quote please.

 Grin

Meanwhile observing the walls it seems the bears have woken up and asks and bids are roughly equivalent. Shorts are still over 30k even after the price rising 8 dollars, so it seems there are lots of underwater shorts which must either close or there will be another large dump attempt to shake out the bulls again.

But it feels bullish now to me.

+1
It's probably a troll factory like the one exposed in Russia. But the second bitcoin leaves the station, they will lose their income or work on another subject. (Jorge is probably better paid than volume trolls because of his advanced content, lol)
