I believe Bitcoin will serve as Digital gold it will always be around since it was first.
Will we use BTC for day to day purchases? ....no.
We will use another blockchain based coin that is more common than BTC and less costly to mine
BTC will always carry that intrinsic value since it was first.
There is no purpose for bitcoin to be digital gold if another blockchain is widely used. That blockchain will turn out to be the true digital gold. lel still havent laid off the crackpipe i see. Right. I still havent laid off reality. No one but a niche group cares about bitcoin "as is". Get used to that. reality it is: now who is the niche group again? ^^ oh you must be one of the banking/corporatist cheerleader gettin all wet and that for some smokey "blockchain technology". eh anyway, giving you too much attention already.

A fake pump is a fake pump. No growth expected with small blocks.
Last I checked this is still being looked at by devs on a weekly basis, with another summit coming up in December. Every single one of them agrees on bigger blocks, now it's just a matter of which proposal gets implemented. It will happen. Why so glum? A classic https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buridan's_ass scenario. 'there will always be some starting conditions under which the ass will starve to death'-Leslie Lamport And we're dealing with bitcoin-caliber asses here -- starvation assured!

I know this sounds paranoid, but I think there is a psyops campaign to prevent consensus. Small blockers are not making rational arguments. They say it's reckless to make big changes to a 4 billion dollar network, but then they want to wait and take their time to make sure their aren't major negative effects. So what are they going to say when it's a 20 billion dollar network? Consensus itself is a potential central point of failure. I think that vulnerability is being exploited.

Isn't it funny, how China (Huobi, OKCoin, BTCChina) are forming a perfect bubble (12hr Chart) while the rest of the world is forming a double top (also 12hr chart)?

Mind blown in 3. . . 2. . . 1. . .
Could this be the rise to $10,000 USD / BTC ? ? ? Not so much a comment as an observation, if you are saying it repeats but bigger wont the other bit also be longer? (the flat part) is that mean 5 years before next ath that makes sense. i fully agree More like exactly when halving happens next year is halfing, 4 years later there another halving.... there i agree about the price above 1000

There is no purpose for bitcoin to be digital gold if another blockchain is widely used. That blockchain will turn out to be the true digital gold. Indeed. Why were gold and silver used side by side? Because gold was of very high value, which was excellent for big value transfers, but not very suitable for small ones. Silver had less value, which made is less suitable for big value transfers, but better suited for small payments. For digital ledgers which are immaterial, this difference doesn't exist.

Just something else I noticed on the chart Compare the volume levels of summer/fall 2013 to this year. Bitstamp was a low volume exchange back in summer/fall 2013. Gox was the highest volume exchange back then. Now Bitstamp is one of the highest volume exchanges for USD trades. That chart's not got enough valid cumulative data. You would need to get a cumulative volume chart for all exchanges to make any valid comparisons based on volume.
