Maybe we should all wait with bated breath on what Trump or Obama thinks about Bitcoin too? Or maybe the Pope?

Aren't they all infallible? What do we mere mortals know?

Who sold at the bottom?

I didn't sell yet, my friend sold his 100BTC today though - he bought them when they were worth 1USD - he's pretty happy with his investment

Your friend had an itch! Like really bad itch! Why do that when in 5 years  he would def could sell for 10k...!

Yeah, I was quite surprised that he sold the lot - if I were him I would have sold a chunk and left the rest

Lol.

It humors me that the great fools of the world, instead of saying "Yeah Bitcoin is awesome because I've always thought we've needed something exactly like that to exist", are the first ones to instead chime in and say "It'll never amount to anything, it sucks. Don't take it seriously".

They say that precisely because a) they live in a world where a threat to fiat currency is a threat to their own existing fortunes, and b) because they don't have the intellectual capacity to both understand and embrace it.

These are the same fools that exclaim "Bbut, but, Bitcoin is not backed by anything!" But when you ask them "Well what are stocks backed by? What are Gold and Silver backed by?" then there's that stunned sheepish look on their face, like you've just asked them "What's the sound of one hand clapping?"

Can't see any pullbacks yet on this view

All because of this. It's the only good news I can see from it rising from the ashes of $2726 DIP to it's BURST UP so FAST NOW!

So much for the guys that were pessimistic about the halving doing anything... like I said right before, it'd have a delayed effect, and hopefully next halving we'll have another large bump up. Who knows what price will be then Tongue hopefully something close to 10K$ or more!

"NYXBT will represent the daily US dollar value of one bitcoin at 4pm"
So it basically tells you what a bitcoin was worth yesterday? How nice.

That news article is from 2015...
So it was. Grin
I remember in the Bank on Bitcoin movie released earlier this year they were mentioning about about it being offered on the NYSE but the guy who was banking his life saving on it went bankrupt because his exchange right next door to wall streets did not fly. Undecided
Then all the sudden the New York finance minister demanded all bitcoin sellers to have a license including any exchanges that were located in New York.
That is why I got all excited reading the headline(thus forgot to look at the date the article was published! Cheesy ) I thought it was abolished now and it was free to trade on the NYSE without a license.

Playing Devil's advocate here...I see everyone here assumes we are going to be at 3K $ in next days...does not that mean the opposite will happen? or, worse, a huge dump will occur if we do not touch 3k $ soon(ish)?

possible... Also possible to see $4k this year. Btc as usual, nobody knows anything...

We don't know anything for sure, but we can make reasonable predictions based on probabilities and momentum, and right now the momentum remains up.. and $4-6k is possible within the next few weeks, 6 weeks at tops...

Sure, if it does not make $4k to $6k in the coming 6 weeks, then we will likely get another shot at that, and possibly beyond, before the end of the year.

This is not knowing anything, but it is based on momentum and ongoing buying support and possible future dynamics.

Any estimation when it will be dumbed again and how low this time?

You are getting ahead of yourself.

Haven't you noticed that we are currently going up.

I know, I know.

Folks get all worked up because the market is moving against them and they want down or they have regrets.

Sorry for your loss, but we are going up.

Regarding dip, sure we may get a dip or two further before $3k.. likely no more than 8%... and then we could get another 30% and possibly up to 50% dip before $3,600.. and then the next dip would be in the $4k to $6k arena.. maybe up to 50%, and maybe more and maybe a bit longer lasting dip.

So in hindsight you all knew everything. Now it's a guessing game. Roll Eyes

Why will nobody admit they know nothing?

I didn't know.

Then again, I never thought much about it. Not like it was central to my existence or anything.

We are only $76 below today's ATH. The dip today was only a small correction, probably from the Chinese taking profits after breaking 20000 CNY for the first time today. We might get a few more before it breaks $3000. Nobody knows when the $3000 party is, but it seems very close. The Chinese are already having their 20000 CNY party.
