Also, I'd like to point out that the ever so subtle LTC shilling in this thread is wearing thin fast. Angry
Not trying to shill LTC per se, more of an observation on the overall insanity in the market. Like a cannon ball rolling around on the deck of a pirate ship; the money is just sloshing around.

But Point noted and taken.

Meantime why isn't Bitcoin DOING ANYTHING? This is the most bored I have been all day....

142k Unconfirmed transactions and 380 sats/byte recommended fee.
Nothing to see here, Bitcoin is working well.

In r / bitcoin the problem is being discussed. It is becoming harder and harder to ignore the situation and pretend that nothing happens here.
https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/7jqs9m/how_much_longer_are_we_going_to_pretend_we_dont/

My first bitcoin I bought around 15 dollars, today I could not start with an investment like that. And there are perhaps hundreds, or thousands of people who are preferring other currencies for that very reason.

https://news.bitcoin.com/after-segwit2x-failed-jeff-garzik-reveals-united-bitcoin/

More on United Bitcoin, your new favourite fork.

You're only awarded them if your BTC transferred between addresses you own between November 11th and a couple of days ago. They didn't tell anyone this until after the fork. So most of you peons are officially 'inactive' and therefore toast.

http://www.ub.com/project/get

Eligibility

All users who transfer Bitcoins from his/her own address to his/her own address between Block 494000 and Block 498777 (11 November 2017 to 12 December 2017 GMT) will be eligible if the transaction meets the following criteria.

The output address (receiving address) must also be listed as one of the input addresses and cannot be a totally new address
The output address (receiving address) must end up with a balance of more than 0.01 BTC
If you are not sure if the operation is complete, please make two transfers.

How deeply mysterious that they only outlined this after the fork.

Ah. That'll learn me. Let's page Satoshi so he can move his for a bit of fun.

I find this sentence a bit confusing - The receiving address must have a prior balance of more than 0.01BTC, and must be used as one of the sending (input) addresses.

So you're sending it to the same address you're sending it from? Is that even possible?

Nah, let's clone the UB blockchain after it launches, call it UltimateBitcoin, and steal back all of Jeff's coins through SuperGodMode2.0.  Grin

why price is 13.375€ on Kraken and on Gdax is 14.182€ ?
i see this the last days. why is that?

Usually this means there is a problem on one of the exchanges, either with withdrawing or depositing, either fiat or BTC.

I use Kraken and it might be slow and frustrating but you can deposit and withdraw, trade too with enough patience. Can't say for gdax, haven't used it yet.

I wondered that too. Something like this is probably leased from the owner for big bucks. They rarely let them go for good.

Question of the day. Is Jstolfi paid by Ver, ?

I doubt it. But we can discuss the possibility. What is the logic that leads you to even ask the question?

Mysterious you say?

You can clearly tell he does it for free which makes it more disturbing by a country mile. He must've been putting in 16 hour days at certain points in the past.

2. They are now getting very slow for withdrawals - over a week now to even confirm (USD) withdrawal - let alone see it in your bank.  I don't know about SEPA, as I no longer use this method (see 3 below).

It might be due to the round-about way it has to go for you. I'm getting USD withdrawals to the US confirmed in a day.

Are you saying this is on Bitstamp?

I get them confirmed on Stamp in an hour, yes - but then the withdrawal being "in process" lasts a week +.   I am asking for USD to be sent from my US balance, and given they are not USA-based I don't see how they can be faster for a US customer than a UK one.

Can you confirm you are saying Stamp do wire withdrawals (international transfer) for you in a day?!

Which means his supposed day job as a busy University professor is either a complete farce, or a cover.

I'd want to be paid multiple millions to throw that much of my time away. This space clearly attracts the mentally ill and fanatical and I believe he's one of them. And professors in first world countries mainly sit around and finger their students. In Brazil I doubt they even bother turning up for work.

Yes, on Bitstamp, International Bank withdrawal, USD balance to a US bank. I just placed a withdrawal Wed, Dec 13, 2017 at 7:48 AM, received the confirmation Thu, Dec 14, 2017 at 3:30 AM. I should see it in my bank on Tuesday. So typically 4 (business) days from beginning to end.
