Why can't Bitstamp provide some info regarding their current issues on Twitter? That would be the professional thing to do.

Blocksize needs to be resized asap.
Bitcoin will become mainstream soon and its value depends on fast and cheap transactions.

wow, everybody is expecting 1000 $ a coin, but we still have exchanges that arent able to handle the traffic, money transfers, etc.

stamp is down, mtgox is empty, and btcchina is...well...in china.

this exchange fail feels like april.

add to that a lot of newbies and newcomers calling for 1000 $.

The average citizen/investor will not step in right now with fresh fiat to chase a promise of Internet money. Choo choo all you want but this party is slowly ending untill the next time.

Meanwhile, accumulate the stuff.......

In April Gox went down. I believe that if it didn't, things would be different.

Nope. Fiat needs to be coming in to feed a rise and so that rise was unsustainable just as was the rise yesterday.

+1.

If this is the relative top height of the cat bounce, then we have another 2-3 hours to see a new (similar) low (like you, I'm just assuming the trend is my friend).

OTOH, it has shown it has survived a couple of serious connections and has touched 900 and government has indicated it's not going to maul it. Cash Dirty fiat will be coming in.

No doubt. Probably a bit less intense due to singed fingers.

Cash will be coming in.

Always remember the delayed effect. Whether it will be enough money to sustain the rally this soon I don't know, but there will always be a delay in getting funds to an exchange, getting verified, and figuring out how to store and safekeep bitcoins. That's usually several weeks of delay. That delay allows astute investors to make money, although that's easier when the price has been relatively calm since the surge is quite salient on a calm price chart.

I cannot think of anyone besides speculators that would jump in right now. Most people only see that mega spike and the fact that we're on the right side thereof....

The next hype will be a lot sooner I think but less extreme than the previous one. Soon, we will reach a phase where the masses will not consider entering as long as Bitcoin is not really usefull (and no extreme gains are to be expected). That will be a relatively long dull period.

What, like a pattern repeating?  Tongue

EDIT: Right, now it's time to go back to building the AOL, Yahoo, and Prodigy of the Bitcoin future. Speculating does little to help create strength in the infrastructure and ecology.
