gasoline sucks as it does not store well if I had my way you would see almost no gas.

I think this depends on the gas. I had ethanol-free gas I kept in my basement for 5 years and it ran like fresh when I dug it out. I've also had ethanol gas that was unusable after a season.

The blockchain grows about 50G per year, so you're good for another 10 years. 1T sounds like the right choice.

I agree. SSDs have a sweet spot and 1T is about where it is right now unless you have specific needs. I've never found upgrading to be much of a pain, particularly for data drives. In fact, keeping system drives as small as possible helps keep upgrades snappy.

$50K is being such a tease right now.

Keeping me from my comfy bed...

Re: Propane vs gas. You need 1.38 times as much propane as gasoline for the same energy by volume (assuming liquid propane) and for 20lbs of propane, the container weighs about as much as the fuel it contains

Why does the ethanol mix not store well?
Pure petrol stores well, as you said, I have also used really old petrol from 20 liter cans I had stored in my garage.
And ethanol also stores well, I have 40 year old vodka that still works fine. So why does the mix not age well?

I would venture to guess that there is a difference between you drinking your 40 year old vodka and you burning it.  #justsaying

stop teasing us and give us a new ath, that up and down around 50k is unbearable

That's because we are badly accustomed to to the profitability of Bitcoin. Before it existed, such high returns could only be obtained with very high risk assets, so the potential profitability was coupled with a very high potential risk of losing your money, if not outright scams. To despair when the price of Bitcoin has "only" gone up 500% in the last year is very funny.

And it's happened to me too, eh, but if you think about it, it's a good laugh.

so you mean we are getting bored?

man never thought having 100s of percent  profit year after year would ever be boring but i guess one does get used to it..

Exactamente, vapourminer..

I find it so damned difficult to get bored with this whole matter.. and for years I have been considering that 100s of percentage of profits would not be sustainable.. but it has been continuing to go on and on and on.. and I don't even have a problem with a leveling off of the UPpity slope at some point whether now or in the near future or whatever..  but it does what it does.. and if the slope doesn't want to level, it doesn't want to level.. who are we to say otherwise?  Mere peons looking UPpity on a fairly regular basis, and maybe our necks are hurting a wee bit sometimes too in this whole process, no?

50k is in so I sold a small piece.

Next stop 60k although I hope some to sell at 55k in under 10 days. Maybe 60k in under 12 days.

Then the elusive 70k which I guaranteed for May 2021.

I  would like to get to 70k some time soon.  As I do not want that guarantee to continue to haunt me.

Frankly it (BTC) is a bit boring at the moment. This is cool as I have a ton of other issues in the real world to work on.

Yes, that's what I mean. We've just touched $50,400 btw, let's see if we break it today.

yeah i guess 50k(ish) is pretty boring. im taking a nap now wake me at like 60k or something. or 40k.

Hey.. hey.... hey....  I don't mind $50k

whatchutalkin about willis?

I am not bored.

$40k.. bah humbug.

 Angry Angry Angry

Shitcoins going bananas and Bitcoin not able to stay above 50k. Starting to have the same feel as it did earlier this year in May. I don't think we're going to drop but it's always frustrating to see this happen.

oh gawd........  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

Who fucking cares about the tail?

Doggie no doesn't care.   Or at least it shouldn't. (in theory... hahahhaha)

A fews days ago i saw a dream that one fine morning, i checked bitcoin price and it was 100,000$. I was so happy to see this but then my eyes opened and when i checked in reality it was around 48000$.
My friends says that i see real dreams, so this means that bitcoin will reach 100,000$ in reality  Roll Eyes

I just went out with a realtor yesterday to view a property based on the likelihood that bitcoin will be over $100k by the end of the year. I wanted to be ready.

I'll definitely be looking at a BlockFi loan as opposed to cashing out.

Tell us how it works out, Elwar! This is useful info.

I've been wanting to do something like that for a long time: extracting fiat without cashing out. I'm just very wary, because all the bitcoin lending setups I've seen in the past were scams. BlockFi looks like it's a bit different... until it turns out it really isn't?

From what I saw the US government is fighting them on the Bitcoin loans.

I figure if I get the cash in the form of a loan for the equivalent amount of BTC that I would have otherwise received via cashing out then they go bankrupt or whichever, it still qualifies as a loan as far as the IRS is concerned. Just nobody to pay the loan back to.

Seems like i had to go on a second vacation for the price to go over $50k  Grin
Greetings from fillippone's motherland.

One of my sons came up to me today and reported that he has seen a bitcoin-tattoo on one guy. So he asked him if he "knows bitcoin", and the guy said "yes".
No more words were wasted on the topic (good boy). Later on, i saw the guy and the tat, but it was a regular uppercase "B" in college font, in a circle. I guess it should mean "Basketball" or "Baseball".
I explained the Bitcoin symbol to my son again, i think he finally got it now  Cool

EDIT:

I got 4 sendable Merit at the moment.
Will give 2 10 sMerit to the WO identifying the location (city)
Will give 1 5 sMerit for correctly guessing the name of the city in the background as well

EDIT2:
Thanks to El_duderino, who made it possible to top up the sMerit rewards.
It's a hard riddle, but i will give additional tips if nobody can solve it.

You just gave me an idea. We could start a "Bitcoin School" where we could teach newbies about bitcoin, mining, blockchain and so on. A lot of people aren't getting far with DYOR (in fact it steers them towards shitcoins and scams where they lose their interest for crypto all together). People need mentors. This would also promote Bitcoin adoption.

What do you guys think? Would anyone be willing to start something like that with me?

edit: Are you in Miami?

Which platform do you eventually think of?
Daily lessons via twitter?
I'd suggest some platform that already attracted a lot of newbies and is highly active (facebook would be the lowest mark on this scale).
