It wouldn't be a great surprise if the whole move down from ~400 was an orchestrated buy up of bitcoins prior to the ETF going live, would it?
i thought they already has a lot of bitcoin for the etf ? Not the winklevii. If/when the ETF goes live it will almost inevitably draw in lots of investment capital into the space. All the winklevii coins are only valued 20 million USD now. It is likely that prior to such an announcement there will be buying up on coins en masse by those in the know. A great way to do this is to smash the price first. This could all just be the market waking up to how oversold btc is - 75,000,000 USD in Coinbase from investors including banks shows where this market is going over the next few years - imagine if that capital hit the exchanges. Nice observation, I like it. It could also mean they are investing in the system and backend because they do not really care which crypto currency is going to run on it in the end.

good to hear. hope they invest in good security. i use them mostly like a gateway to get my usd turned into bitcoin. it usually never stays there long since i will send it to either an exchange, or to bitmain, or to my cold storage wallet. i have never turned any bitcoins into usd so i don't know how that works but i assume is same as buying it. Yeah I have not used that USD wallet they just put into place. IMO, you should never store money there ( or anywhere for that matter ) at least for the time being....cuz you never know.

interest 404 not found
nobody wants to buy more than 50 dollars per btc for what bitcoin has to offer (virtually nothing but risks and issues)
whole btc market only constituted by a handfull of whales toying with price waiting for the final blow
yet the conspiracists, fat geeks and paranoiacs (99% of cultists) will keep dreaming about the world collapsing and bitcoin being the answer
what am i doing, bitcoin isn't even worth trolling anymore
Finally someone who gets it.

Yep, bitcoin is dead Coinbase has raised $75m as part of a Series C funding round backed by a host of impressive first-time bitcoin investors including the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), Fortune 500 financial services group USAA, Spanish megabank BBVA and Japanese telcom giant DoCoMo.Too add onto that... I think this is from NYSE themselves: http://otp.investis.com/clients/us/intercontinental_exchange_group/usn/usnews-story.aspx?cid=953&newsid=28438Released : 20 January 2015
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Intercontinental Exchange (NYSE: ICE), the leading global network of exchanges and clearing houses, announced today that its wholly-owned subsidiary, The New York Stock Exchange, has made a minority investment in Coinbase, a leading bitcoin wallet and platform with over 2.1 million consumer wallets, 38,000 merchants and 7,000 developers.
Coinbase was established in 2012 in San Francisco and provides a platform for people to easily and securely use the digital currency bitcoin.
“With this investment, we are tapping into a new asset class by teaming up with a leading platform that is bringing transparency, security and confidence to an important growth market,” said NYSE President Tom Farley. “We look forward to supporting Coinbase’s growth utilizing our global distribution capabilities and market expertise.”
The New York Stock Exchange will work with Coinbase to bring additional transparency to bitcoin pricing. ICE is a leading provider of financial information and market data and has worked through its benchmark administration business to restore confidence and integrity in financial data.
Terms of the investment were not disclosed. i think ETF is around the corner then ? i think this is very interesting gentlemen Not sure about ETF I would bet more on BitLicens ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^this

Why do loads of you guys want the price to stay low? I'll never understand it.
Personally, I just want it to be at the right level for smooth adoption. We'll soon reach the point where people won't even accept coins for free.

Completely delusional as always. Even the biggest idiots stopped with this nonsense. Yet you just go on and on. Amazing.

Transparency to pricing, lol. Sounds like they are investing to undermine and eliminate the competition. Well played, NYSE.
