"In a nutshell, the network works like a distributed timestamp server, stamping the first transaction to spend a coin. It takes advantage of the nature of information being easy to spread but hard to stifle." -- Satoshi

What sort of estimate are we looking at for when the next halving happens in 2016 price wise?

I know there are many things to factor in but say if the halving was now at 230 USD what price would we then be looking at?

Rough estimate?

I'd bet we won't have to wait until the next halving to see prices over $1000. Chart addicts point to next April/May. But I guess about 700-1000 range would be a bearish-bullish prediction with the current data.

People that are expecting the halve to take the price to the moon are fucking insane. I guess that they missed the part where Dogeshitcoin was in the same situation and everybody was mooning, without realizing that a halve requires twice the equipment to produce the same amount of coins as before. (mining profits cut in half instantly + the price on the market would have to double up as fast)

If the interest in bitcoin doesn't increase by then and the price only goes up by a few dollars with the halving, then expect entire mining farms to go bust and collapse this entire BitBulb scheme.

If you folks have any sense you'd pull all your coins off the exchanges 'cos someones running fractional reserve, over 10k dumped and no movement on days destroyed and only a couple of k's worth of dollar swaps pulled. No excuse for lack of transparency on exchanges, if others can run with transparency and user controlled wallets then what do they have to hide? If you're not asking that you're irresponsible with your coins and deserve to lose them. I'd suggest stopping trading on the first of every month and pulling coins to drive out the bad actors.

Good work bears Smiley actually would be nice to have the price as low as possible when the ETF goes live. Long position will bring a shit load of new coins Cheesy

btw. http://bitcoinist.net/mcdonalds-might-start-accepting-bitcoin-soon/

I cringe whenever i see this fake bullshit news. McDonalds won't start accepting a stupid currency that this hour is worth $300 and the next $150. Why the hell would they promote such a volatile piece of garbage ? They will accept something similar to monopoly money like they did in the past. Something that every ordinary people would have in their houses. Something easy to get and spend, not Bitcoin that requires Computer+Antivirus+Bank Account+Exchange Account + Documentation (ID, Passport, Life diary etc) + Smartphone+Wallet installed+Knowledge on how to use it.
