[...] In this case C is about $220, so the log-scale plot may straighten out only if and when the price hits $500 or so.
Time to buy?

Hang in there guys.
If you held and added through the turbulence and volatility of the last two years then hang on just a bit longer. The halving is approaching and then we have ETF.
Think long term with your stash.

i have been hodling two years with my btc investment in red territory, i know have to learn to hodl in the green one. Pretty much exactly the same as me. Without going into specifics I've only just got into profit. I'm planning to HODL long term any way but it's nice not to be at a loss on all the money I've pumped in any more. Similar to me! ditto, but I still got a bit more to go before going back into the black. The uptrend, has allowed some ability for me to be fairly strongly prepared for BTC prices going either way - though the trend as definitely been looking up with the potential ability of significant snowballing for weeks to come - although next week's auction is going to be interesting too, and to see whether the auction ends up being bearish or bullish - I'm inclined to believe the latter, even though I am preparing for either direction.

Shorts are trapped.
3.9k coins to 360 on finex (excluding hidden walls)
The price has gone parabolic but this run may go further before a retest of 300. Retail shorters like tarmi are feeling the pain now.

Already thinking of the long term. I admit that I am really tempted to offload some at this price point, but my gut feeling tells me no!

These fast rises of mysterious origin usually stop very suddenly, and then a slow and painful bleed will follow. First get them to panic buy and then leave them enough hope, so they would hold while you sell. Let's see what happens this time..

I think it's starting to become clear that people heavily underestimated the severity of the financial problem in China and a component of what you're seeing right now is insiders attempting to do a myraid of things such as avoid devaluation, hedge, and avoid capital controls: "in 2007 and right before the world was swept in the worst financial crisis in history, China had only $7.4 trillion in debt, or 158% in consolidated debt/GDP. Since then this debt has risen to over $30 trillion (specifically $28.2 trillion as of Q2, 2014) representing a staggering 300% debt/GDP. "This means that China was responsible for more than a third of all the $57 trillion debt created since 2007, making a mockery of the QE unleashed by all the DM central banks" http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2015-10-29/ghost-cities-finally-died-chinas-steel-industry-outlook-worst-ever-amid-unprecedenteThey can't go to stocks or domestic real estate to put their money somewhere. If they want to go into foreign real estate, they need to avoid capital controls (Bitcoin). Since the price of BTC was suppressed all this time and has a halving coming up to make it a very safe buy, this China bubble might become far bigger than the last. It wouldn't really be that astonishing to me hitting something like $600 from the halving, so I won't be looking at my screen in amazement until it hits something like $750+.

I think they're just enjoying a good spurt for the pure hell of it. People read too much into this stuff.

Definitely not selling anything in the short term.

$326 now, seems like the price rise has suddenly halted for a bit. Looks like major dumping is looming or not?

Past couple days have seen a dump and recovery during the western prime time, followed by another increase when the east wakes up. Maybe it will be the same? testing $300-$315.
