Can we reach the $1300 in coming days? If Litecoin finally decides to adopt Segwit can this affect the price of bitcoin too? Can people think that the end of the scalability debate would be closer and could raise the bitcoin price thus?

unless jihan wu is somehow fired by everyone else then bitcoin won't scale. give it some more time and it'll literally be him against the rest of the world and that can only last so long.

Are you referring to anyone in particular in your small text?

No not really, just a rumor.

Do you have difficulties accepting that there can be varying approaches, strategies and views about bitcoin?  Or, you just feel good if you can denigrate others who may have differing views from you in one way or another?

No not at all. Do you?

Even the highly manipulated (to the downside) metals market looks less scammy than Bitcoin at this point:

Well well. Just checked in and we seem to have crept up a smidgen more... $1258USD/$1700CAD at Bitcoinaverage.

Maybe this time $1250 will stick for a while. We're getting closer to gold parity again.

$1700CAD is another rung up the ladder for us Canucks. Feels good.

The difference is that there's no huge hype that's causing the price to spike.  Looks like this time gold parity might stick for longer than a day or two.

After one year of development, eZforex, in collaboration with Ripple and Star One Credit Union, was able to deliver live payments to 4 continents on April 10, 2017. Robert Crandall, former CEO of American Airlines, Inc. and an eZforex investor noted, “This is a major step forward. Now all financial institutions, regardless of size, can offer their customers access to the safest, lowest cost funds transfer technology.”

Once known for innovating turn-key Dodd-Frank 1073 compliance solutions, including the Federal Reserve’s FedGlobal® ACH initiative, relied upon by several international payments providers nationwide, eZforex is now taking a leap into the future by cooperating with Ripple to create the newest industry standard: International BlockChain Payments for the banking industry.

About eZforex.com, Inc. (eZforex)

eZforex.com, Inc., a Longview, Texas based corporation, is the nation's leading foreign exchange service and international transfers solutions provider for financial institutions. Founded by Evan Shelan in 1994, eZforex was initially created to provide foreign banknotes to credit unions, banks, and travel-related companies prior to their members and customers departing the United States for travel. Today the U.S. government and over 2,000 financial institutions rely on eZforex's integrated turnkey solutions to manage their foreign currency and international transfers both through International ACH and BlockChain. eZforex.com, Inc. is a NAFCU and LendingTools.com preferred Partner.

Is that new I thought blockchain was already being tested for a while in finance.  I heard they wanted to have listed securities traded on a blockchain even.   I did not think Ripple was decentralised like bitcoin but this answer for differences to BTC makes it sound like Ripple is amazing.  Either way progress is good, so long as its not lobsided and well tested also

800 of the next 1200 litecoin blocks need to be segwit signalled for segwit on litecoin to lock in.
Miners are currently signalling 99% of blocks ...

Maybe I was too 'realistic', but I expected the big miners to keep it at about 75% until the end so they could make a bit of extra cash by manipulating the apparent likelihood and therefore market price.
I must be getting old ...

I'm balls deep in XRP. I see XRP as an alternative to BTC going to war with banks and other financial systems, I mean, banks will not cease to exist just because of BTC accession they will have to adapt and I think XRP is the answer and now it's becoming too big to fail.

Never try to fight banks. They ARE the system. If ripple becomes to big they just force it to back off. They have tons of laws, politicians etc. backing them. Bitcoin is the thing you want to be balled deep in. Not cripple. BTC is much more valuable. This altcoin thing really gets in people's heads. Litecoin and ripple fanboys everywhere.

Don't compare ripple to copycats like litecoin. Just think ripple as the other side of the BTC coin. Do you think that banks will ever adopt BTC into their system? No

I'm too balls deep in BTC since 2013, but I see ripple as the counterbalance weight for BTC success, they are 2 completely different cryptos after all.
