Another early good morning Bitcoinland.
I see the price is continuing to creep slowly upward... currently $1295USD (Bitcoinaverage).
The battle over $1300 should be fun. As I'm typing I see it hit $1300 on Stamp.
I don't see any rocket train GIFs, just doom-and-gloom predictions of some huge expected crash. Be greedy when others are fearful, etc.
Glad I'm an investor not a trader. Maybe they'll be right and we'll get a big dip. In that case I'll buy more.
Meanwhile I'm enjoying the show. Go Bitcoin go.
Has it been a week if not more now holding near this $1,300 price? I don't remember anything holding for a week this year so far, so am surprised each day to find that it hasn't shot up or tumbled down. If the dip happens, I'm hoping for it to happen in two months or it'll be a wasted opportunity for me to buy more.

I hope this rise isn't based on the ETF. That ship has sailed.

Each of the sites I look at have prices at over $1300 as well. Bitcoin price just passed gold -- that is only the second time that has ever happened, the first was a few weeks ago. Imagine what might happen if they RESOLVE the SegWit v. BU Civil War...

Speculation is mother of all devils. But nobody like losers, just be winner. Look at price movement difference between exchanges.

Imagine what might happen if they RESOLVE the SegWit v. BU Civil War... 10k? Well once it happens, especially if it's BU, I would sell straight away. That civil war would get a hundred times worse, with attacks as well potentially, if something actually happens. I'd buy back in a couple of days after, but it could be really bad the instant it happens (especially with a split).

If it's resolved then that means it's kind of... resolved. And never in a month of leap years will BU be the one that the majority chooses.

I am not an blockchain expert ^^. What if we accept SegWit and everything is finished and Bitcoin have had their softfork. Is BU dead permanently when SegWit wins? Or stays BU alive in some sort of way for fuhrter scaling?

The only circumstances where I can see the current agitators, apart from Mr Wu who won't under any circumstances, considering Segwit would be if there was an agreed block size increase a period of time after it was activated. If that was reneged on then the same BU types would start up again the same as before. I don't think we'll ever get Segwit myself without something dramatic happening. And the scaling thing is a proxy war for power. That desire won't go away.

Simple because people and also miners are driven my money, the highest bidder. Jihan WU and Roger Ver's resources arent infinite so they cant hold on for ever. The miners saw what SegWit implementation did with the price of the altcoins. Its only a matter of time before the miners are going to betray BU and choose for SegWit. Simply because the market wants it. Its all about the money and it looks like BU made a nice offer for the time being. Higher price = higher ROI. They will choose SegWit unless BU can boost the price whats not going to happen.

$1300 is here, I hope it´s here to stay and entablish a a floor around this figure while it keeps climbing safely and steady, all the safely and steady that it can be when we talk about bitcoin, of course.

Simply because the market wants it. Its all about the money and it looks like BU made a nice offer for the time being. The only problem is ASIC boost. The price needs to be a lot higher to justify switching when it is already climbing and they are making a 25% bonus by stalling segwit. You have to think, if they know segwit will bump the price up, they can mine at 25% discount for as long as possible and bank coins, only to dump once segwit gets implemented. How long can they do that for is the question

They know that they are losing and so they are using shemes to fake the numbers. Miners will understand that SegWit is a lot more sustainable because of a higher ROI on mid-long term. Roger Ver is digging its own grave with its own money. Ambition can really blind people.

Those pockets might be deeper than we think. If he has been doing the asicboost thing then that's a stunning increase in profitability compared to everyone else. It may reach a point where it is literally Mr Wu and his dribbling loons versus almost everyone else. That'll be pretty fucking funny to watch because you can't resist forever.

We can compare this whole scaling war to an old medieval castle siege. BU is camping in the castle untill their resources run out. BU is a dead man walking.
