I've got a good sized stash of coins that I keep in cold storage, been buying & HODLING for years. I'm happy with my stash & plan to HODL for a good few years yet.
Would love to buy another 10-15 coins though but feels too much of a risk at these prices. Is anybody considering buying more at these prices? When I say more I don't mean 1 or 2.
Don't think I'm going to buy any more unless we go back to around $1000. Seems stupid saying that because I'm pretty sure we'll see $5000 in a couple of years.
Thoughts?
I'm in the same boat, have coins in storage that I'm not touching, and my trading stash which is "play money" Short term, im not buying... I've sold some of my trading stash, and taking more and more profit as the market gets more and more overbought (but not eating into my cold storage). The cultists don't like this though, and they continue to berate anyone who dares to mention selling/profit taking. If we do see a correction/RTM, I'll be buying the dip like a mofo. In the meantime, I'll be sitting here like everyone else, not having a fucking clue where it is going from here. Oh, and to those who keep harping on about "selling at the bottom", I assume you're all in and still buying? Liquidating any and all assets so you can buy more BTC? ... Because this is the bottom and it's guaranteed to go up from here? hmmm?

Saying "alts" is like saying "Europe". There is a vast difference between Paris and Pristina
Really? And what is the difference between Paris and Pristina? Pristina has what has been voted the ugliest building in the world Meanwhile, Paris has this:

An Eth shill came up with the best description of the Bitfinex situation: I won't be surprised if it turns out that the fiat withdrawal problems at BFX were deliberate, so could unload their own bags at a premium price on their own exchange. It wouldn't be surprising if they go full gox with money going missing either. Anyway people who deal with them will probably loose one way or another.
The second those charts turned bad for bitcoin and the market began to roll over, Bitfinex immediately pulled the plug on withdrawals right at the top of the cliff. Then, instead of going down, they forced a short squeeze of basically every single customer on their entire exchange, plus forcing all cash holders to dump fiat and buy bitcoin to be able to remove anything from the exchange at all, and here we are now in some absurd bubble with $100 spreads or more between all exchanges.

So at this point ya gotta feel for those that got caught up in the 2013 bubble.
I.e., bought around the 1000 mark during height of hype but did not manage to hodel during that seemingly
endless (in crypto terms anyway) bear market of 2015 but instead sold their coins around 230 (the price it hovered around at that time)
to cut their then perceived losses.
Oh man, you know there are a few of those people out there. I was a hodeling home miner during that time,
most likely mining at a loss, but for whatever reason, kept at it for a that whole year of price in the toilet,
while paying an astronomical electric bill. I guess I never lost faith and held, thank goodness, .Sold miner, kept the coins(most that is)!
In hindsight best financial decision I ever made. I’m still hodeling.
GO BITCOIN!!

managed to not sell anything during the 2013 peak. hodled and saw the value of my stash shrinking 2014 and 2015. boy, it was hard not to lose faith. all those who hodled strong are getting the reward now. sit back and enjoy. soon:

2015 was a bull market. the trend reversed in Jan 2015 if I remember. It took all year to gather steam though. At the rate we're going right now, 2017 could be the most insane price appreciation yet.

The price of Bitcoin continues to rise at a considerable pace. Even if a correction of about $ 100 would occur it would be kept at a very interesting price. I don´t know if this correction will take place, on the one hand we have accumulated many days breaking records but on the other hand it´s possible that we are simply before the effect on bitcoin of the news coming from Japan and that this wave will continue to advance.

This would be the nightmare scenario. And the timing fits. But what evidence do we have that BFX initiated the fiat problems? I though it was Wells Fargo (remember the so-called lawsuit against Wells Fargo they pulled).
