This is the last blast imo for BTC, alts are getting dumped hard. I think we gonna hit 2000-3000 and the ETF news will decide if we go down or up afterwards. Most likely down.

The ETF was already rejected once! Just because bats lets it review again by the SEC doesn't mean anybody here is expecting something. It will get rejected a second time with 99% certainty. All market participants know this. That's why another rejection won't have any significant impact on the price.

If anyone from the sec has been paying attention to dead china, screwed bfx, poloniex outages and insane price differentials something tells me they're gonna feel a little vindicated.

Today is big shitcoin bleeding right?! Good good! These guys have to learn it the hard way. BTC King will continue ruling them all! Grin Wink
Price is around $1764 over at coinmarketcap. I'm just curious if this is the beginning of the big altcoin dump and Bitcoin's huge slingshot to $2000+.
It looks like almost all of them are bleeding; take a look:

We hit $1700 on Bitstamp!

This is beautiful! Getting emotional  Grin
And highly expected.

Looks like it will be an interesting day on the markets today - prices are all over the place - Almost all alts are down by 30% so far, I'm loving all of this volatility =D

Steem isn't really "trading against the hurricane" at all.  It's just that the very sharp drop in price that it's having isn't more than the huge pump it had very soon before that yet.

Indeed. And it's been knocked off the top spot of "coins gaining faster than bitcoin" anyway since I posted that...

[...] Here's some data:

Bitstamp | There are currently 1288.2105 bitcoins offered at or under 2000.0 USD, worth 2346384.55943 USD in total. | Data vintage: 0.0161 seconds
[...]

So there are only ~1300 coins offered (2.3 million dollar) on Bitstamp to reach 2000$? Was not aware it was that illiquid.

It should be perfectly clear to everybody that all the money made from altcoins are now coming back to poppa.

The only one which could rise up again tomorrow seems ltc after segwit.

A moment of silence for Proffesor Bitkorn:

I don't see an ETF denial having a significant effect, especially not as last time. An ETF approval would make this bull market go full crazy. Do keep in mind that the commission consists of different people now, so the chance for rejection is not 99%.

I'm sure there will be a rinse and repeat cycle in a few months time =) It's been a pretty good month or two trading alts - and managed to double my BTC holding in the process

We could just sit and cringe all day with these.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D4PFTisD3kw
30 years ago my father came home from work and told me he was pulling out of stocks for a bit. The reason was that he overheard his secretary talking to some people in the typing pool about how they were all trading stocks and comparing specific stocks and positions. He said that if the typing pool people were investing in stocks (they being dumb as proverbial rocks) then it was somewhat overheated and time to get out.

After the October 87 crash he mentioned that he was getting into stocks again as the typing pool people were no longer talking about their portfolios but how they were running screaming for the exits.

I try to keep that in the back of my mind. While it is impossible to time the market, when you hear complete yabos going on about their portfolio it's a good time to either sell a bit or HODL.

Edit: The person in that above video does sound like a cylon base-star. Just an endless stream of words....
