$1786 on Stamp. Does anybody else feel this is going too fast? I wouldn't mind a period of consolidation for a bit now.

Sideways please.

Yes some consolidation is what I would prefer now too.
We reached the upper trendline of the actual channel in log scale. So a bit of a cool down or some sideways movement is really appreciated before we it's getting too hot and therefore bubbly what I would like to avoid.

The interesting thing is that there is a real demand behind this scale and this demand will keep existing in next weeks. Sure there will be some corrections, dips and all the stuff but I wouldn´t be surprised if this rise lasted a few more days.

Sure you can use Armory cold storage but that is not very convenient.

Convenience is relative.

Is it a slight inconvenience taking 10 minutes of my precious time using Armory to sign an offline transaction? I guess.

...but it's far, far more convenient than accidentally all my coins to malware. Wink

Ok. I'll admit yours is better advice. I'm just not into hardware wallets for now. (My computer is essentially a large hardware wallet; but that's another story.)

you can't trust your phone or your computer.

I don't trust anything.

A guy using the official wallet with passphrase protection lost 16 bitcoin to malware last week posted on reddit. I see these posts more often now. I can appreciate the reasons to run a full node but security of your bitcoin is not one of them until Bitcoin Core supports hardware wallets. Sure you can use Armory cold storage but that is not very convenient.

Armory still the best. Rewards the effort with unbeaten security and subtlety like coin control. Master seed can be split onto two stamped steel plates then stored in separate bank vaults in two different jurisdictions.

The creation of them primarily. Unless you're diligent enough then you might be compromised when making them but there are enough tutorials to prevent that.

Almost none. If you have the patience and the right spot to put them in they're the most secure way to store coins. The fact that they can easily be damaged is avoided if you keep it in a very cool, dark spot like a locked desk. None of the malware shit and also very good looking and presentable if you print a good design Smiley

Do you own said tree? Some weirdo might take a fancy to it and decide to steal it during the night. Your wallet might be unearthed during the theft.

Its on my family's land, its an old tree broken by thunder in half, planted by my great grandfather. No one will ever cut it, since it gives the best green apples.

It is a mistake to publicly share details like this. It increases the chance of theft.

I'm sure he knows what he's doing. It's probably a peach tree that was hit by an airliner and it's on his aunt's land. Misdirection is the first line of protection.

Mine was printed on a laser printer, stuffed in a waterproof baggie, put in a waterproof pelican case, stored in a fireproof safe.

I don't trust anything.

Neither do I.

This is why I prefer paper wallets. Even hardware wallets require trusting the hardware manufacturer.

With paper wallets you only need to trust yourself and mathematics.

You did calculate your paperwallets by hand with pencil and paper?  Shocked

No, I generate them on an internet-incapable computer and print them with a printer that has never been connected to an internet-capable computer. Printer spooling buffers can be hacked.

Anyways, you will probably need a computer and a software wallet to redeem them....

That's why I'm considering getting a Trezor... to use as a landing place when I break a paper wallet and reallocate the coins to new wallets.

Many of my older wallets contain multiple coins, including one with over 30 coins. That's a lot of money to risk by exposing it to the internet.

I learned my 50 coin lesson at MtGox. Never again.

RSI is really overbought on the daily Bitstamp chart at 90. Last time RSI was 90 was back on January 3 the day before we had a $389 drop. $1780 was also an important Fibonacci extension.
