Oh for fuck sake. Just got all my shit together to submit and...

Krakened...god those losers
re: MtGox, yeah, I'm not sure, the Japanese authorities have been pretty opaque
I still don't know how it's possible to trade on kraken without getting rekt by their engine...

What do you recommend I use, that is friendly with the USA banking system, for dumping BCH then ?
Arent you just trading BCH for BCT Bob?
Do you need such high tier levels?
I think that may only be required for FIAT withdrawals.
Now I am no expert at large dumps but can't you use an exchange like polo or bittrex?
I have a legacy account on Bittrex which allows me to withdraw 1337 BTC per day. (Not that I have ever tried!)

He wants to dump BCH to pay off a mortgage, so presumably 100 BCH or more => fiat.

Yeah, wanna dump BCH to straight fiat. Set 40% aside for taxes, pay off a mortgage, buy a new SUV, and an investment property with the other 60% fiat.

Let me know before you dump so i get the hell out of BCH  Grin

Kraken is under DDOS attack it seems, I can't connect to it (and I'm not alone).

It's true that their trading engine has problems, however for a simple limit order it shouldn't be too problematic.

Market order on the other hand, if there is something wacky happening, you never know what price you'll get.

Is that Ver on stamp with a 100BTC sell at 4060?

Hope so. I watched several 100+ BTC walls get eaten on Bitfinex about 8 hours ago for cheap. If it Ver, the sooner he can dispose of his large BTC stash and convert to BCH, the better. Good riddance! At least Ver isn't trying to just dump all his BTC in one fell swoop. (If it is Ver.) How many does he own?

Some are speculating that the DDOS attack is related to BCH, since Kraken has now opened BCH deposits : BCH proponents would like to prevent a BCH dump by attacking Kraken.

Fuck taxes. A reason I've been hodling all these years is to not pay them.

What a lovely dilemma to have.
Well you can at least dump to BCT first then worry about withdrawing to FIAT later.
In fact can you actually trade BCH for FIAT without going through BCT first?
Although I have been around the scene a while I am not used to dealing with these sorts of numbers so please go easy on me if they are naive questions!
edit: just read a few posts up that Kraken is now trading BCH for fiat!

Kraken has EUR/BCH and USD/BCH markets.

Others too.

I'm here to make money too. That is undeniable, and whoever denies it seems to me to be deceiving himself; But that does not mean that I do not care about bitcoin's health and its social implications.

The health, well-being and influence of bitcoin is directly proportional to its ability to generate wealth.

It seems to me that the management of core has been appalling. Whoever denies it or does not want to see it is blind.
Core is believed to be the owner of the truth, they are inflexible, and politics need to know how to deal with versatility.

Asimov in Foundation:

Quote
Hardin, as he sat at the foot of the table, speculated idly as to just what it was that made Physical scientists such poor administrators. It could be just that they were too used to Inflexible fact and far too unused to pliable people.

Enough to make a difference and push and pull the market to suit his agenda, without losing too much of his stash.

I am neutral.

Well then, you are just in it to make more fiat. Like the stock market, you don't really care about the underlying asset.

Not saying that is good or bad. But then I would say you are definitely not one of the minds that are reinforcing Bitcoin's belief system as a (better?) form of money.

Also what, pray tell, will you do, when someone decides to fork BCH? Oh the decisions, decisions. Tsk tsk...

I don't think you read my whole post Torque. I said I'd rather not have fiat. To be honest my goal is bricks and mortar. This I'd like to buy property with bitcoin.

Also yes I do believe in what bitcoin is it's just maybe I don't fully understand the difference between all the different cryptos.

Luckily in my place they're not yet tax-nazi like in your, and I have already a Plan B in another continent where I will be totally tax-exempt.

No: several countries do not tax foreign incomes/capital gains. And there are other tricks. I can't be too specific, but who search, will find.

Finally dumped some of my BitCH coins above 0.2.
Had to go through all the trouble of transferring my cold wallet BTC to new wallet and installing BitCH wallet on a separate computer but it's worth the free money I guess. Feels good.
